Mille- Now I am thinking there are two Ida May Homan's who married into the Steelman family. My Ida May was born August 21, 1863, daughter of James C. Homan and Sarah Ann Smith (lst wife). Ida May died in July/August 1884 when my Great Grandmother was born. However, I did see another Ida M. Steelman, widow, on a 1910 Hamilton County census. She had two daughters, Maud M. and Edna C. Was she the wife of Charles? Do you know who the parents are of Ida May Steelman you mention below? Do you know who Charles Steelman's parents are? ----- Original Message ----- From: [email protected] Sent: Monday, August 29, 2005 7:37 PM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [OHCLER] Fw: Greenlawn & Williamsburg Cemeteries Julia: Abigail Steelman b. 1822 married David Homan 27 Mar 1842. A couple years ago I was in Clermont County looking for my ancestors' graves. I was driving south toward Felicity out of the town that has the old mill.. just before I got to Felicity, there was a cemetery on the right. I had to turn to the right on a road, then make a left into the lane of the cemetery. I just walked around, and found two graves. The center stone said LEVY. Smaller stones on each side just said MOTHER and FATHER. Does anyone know which LEVYs these are? I am descended from the Levy's of Felicity.... PS I found my Hollisters - Jessie and Elizabeth

John, Are you related to Gobles? Here are some notes that I kept regarding Goble cemeteries. --------------------------------------------------------------------- From Hermon Fagley: Goodwins were from New Hampshire. John M.Goodwin,Bethel grist miller, was married to a daughter of Stephen Goble, who lived on Goble Hill,on Ohio Rt 132 south of Lindale, and north of New Richmond,Oh. Stephen Goble's wives were Elizabeth and Alice, daughters of Jousha Brown M 1801 Alice,of Hezekiah Lindsey. --------------------------------------------------------------------- - --------------------------------------------------------------------- - ---------------------------- From Hermon Fagley: The wives of Stephen Goble, riverman of New Richmond's RT 132 HILL,WERE 1ST COUSINS OF E.G.Brown. Goble's daughter m John M Goodwin. --------------------------------------------------------------------- - --------------------------------------------------------------------- - ----------------------------- Jousha Brown, whose Alice and Elizabeth,m Stephen Goble, was a many great uncle of mine. Ohio Rt 132 north of New Richmond,Ohio a mile climbs Goble hill. I think the DAR ladies in the 1950's found the cemetary on the west side of RT 132. They found a 2nd tombstone, near Rt 232 sw of Bethel,Ohio with a Goble tombstone. Wm Goble lived around Bethel before moving to New Richmond, but Bethel also had NOBLE. I think the -oble tombstone was NOBLE,not GOBLE. The wives of Stephen Goble, riverman of New Richmond's RT 132 HILL,WERE 1ST COUSINS OF E.G.Brown. Goble's daughter m John M Goodwin. --------------------------------------------------------------------- - --------------------------------------------------------------------- - ---------------------------- From "Ohio Cemeteries" by the Ohio Genealogical Society: > > Goble Cemetery, Ohio Township, Clermont County > > Private. John, Do not let the date on the book stop you from checking. The DAR instructions to their researchers was to only list those burials up to 1900, but luckily, many of those recording the cemeteries listed every burial. So, many of the cemetery recordings include burials after 1900. Debby Geesner

John, I know Williamsburg and Greenlawn are definitely in Monument Inscriptions Prior to 1900 in Clermont County, Ohio (DAR book). I would imagine that Evergreen is, too, but have never looked for it. Amy

John I have a partial transcriptionof the Williamsburg that I found at the Batavia Library and also have some pictures of tombstones that I took while on a research trip there. Is there any name in particular that you are looking for? I do know that old records of the cemetery cannot be found. Supposedly it changed hands back in the early 1900's and no one has been able to find the original records. If I can be of help, please let me know.
