    2. Connie, Registration of Births were not required by law in Ohio until 1867 and There is no statewide index to birth records from 1867 through December 19, 1908. Your best bet in determining written proof is through the Will and Probate Records. There is a link at the Clermont County OHGenWeb site under Wills & Probate which will lead you to a site that offers a "Will Indexes By Surname" for Clermont Co. and instructions on how to obtain copies. That will be your best proof. Another option which is more difficult is to determine the Church in which they belong to and check to see if the church has records during that time period. Again the Wills are your best source in this circumstance. Sincerely, Chyrl Lawrence-Bulger Clermont County Coordinator In a message dated 10/14/2005 5:59:27 P.M. Jacob's father, John Trees died in Clermont Co., OH in 1833. Are there Ohio birth certificates for 1822? Do you have any other suggestions? Thanks, Connie Jeremiah Oakton, VA

    3. Hermon: Bob Beckelhimer and I visited the cemetery you mentioned when I was in Clermont in Sep. While the DAR ladies recorded a few Pickelheimer burials there back in 1948, we could not find any today. 3. Revecca, If you do go to this cemetary and spot Richard Wood d. 1820 and his wife (unknown) died sometime before Richard, or other possible Wood's that appear to be buried close to Richard, It would mean so much to many of us that are researching this family. I would gladly reimburse you for any tombstone pictures. I live in northern Wisconsin and unable to come to Clermont Co.. Thank you! I think the DAR ladies oublished a few tombstones there. My wife's great, great grandfather ,James Ashton, willed money to that church, and to Williamsburg Methodist,.in memory of his 2 wives. 3. Revecca: If you go there I would appreciate any Pickelheimer tombstones you might find. I have taken photos of the following stones. If memory serves me correctly, these stones are (1) on the far left side of the cemetery towards the front and (2) in the middle part (but left of center near the lane leading out) of the cemetery towards the front. Name Married Name NOAKES, Rebecca V Pickelheimer PICKELHEIMER, Ebenizer S PICKELHEIMER, George W PICKELHEIMER, Harriet A Carr PICKELHEIMER, Joseph A PICKELHEIMER, William Riley PULLIN, Eleanor F Pickelheimer PULLIN, Harriet Pickelheimer SLONE, Rachel Pickelheimer Here are some others that I have as being buried in Newtonsville which I assume but am not certain is the same as the Plainview Cemetery. If you find any of these graves, I would be very interested in knowing where in the cemetery they are located. 3. John Charles Tippet Thank you for the information regarding the difference in names. I had located a 1860 census which listed James B. Hymer married to Margaret with children Hannah, Jackson, Mary E., Nancy E. and James H. Day, the latter very likely being the father of my grandfather, Charles Day. James H. Day was found in the 1870 census living in the household of Sarah Day (Sarah Ellen Beckelhimer and John C. Day) Mary Eleanor Day Harris ---------- >From: "John Charles Tippet" <johntippet@cox.net> > Elias Logsdon married Cecelia Hymer circa 1 Feb 1839 in Madison Co, KY. > John Hymer married Mary E Durbin circa 1848.
