There are many Jones researchers re: David of Pencader who will be happy to learn about his descendents who migrated to Clermont. I'll fwd. this informaton. 2. I don't think I ever said there was,or was not,any connection between David Jones,of Pencader Welsh Tract Baptist, and Welsh Thomas and Susananah Jones Fisher, of Washington Co,Md>sw Pa> S Clermont Co,Ohio. DNA says David Jones was great- grandfather of Clermonters,Wm+John Brown,of n Tate,Clermont; George Brown,1808-20 of current e Monroe township,Clermont,+; Mrs James Arthur and Joseph Brown,of 1800 Milford,Miami township area.Lots of Clermonters, li ke Mrs Hugh Furgeson, and the 2nd Mrs 'King" John Donham,go back to David Jones,of near modern Newark,Del. Miami twnsp.[These Brown's are siblings of Thomas Brown, who iis "NOT" RELATED, DNA says,to my own Capt-Rev-JP-George Brown, whose pulpit Bible was purchased by Enoch Morgan at Brown's Estate auction of 1814.]

    3. Two variations exist in Campbell Co. Stevens and Stephens, I have seen the original of the document referred to in the Campbell Co. court house and it does say Stevens. So far as I know both of these families migrated from Virginia. The Stephens ones from Fairfax Co. near Washington. Information about the Stephens family can be found in "Kentucky: A History of the State", Battle, Perrin, & Kniffin 7th ed 1887. ----- Original Message ----- From: <FagleyTeam@aol.com> To: <OHCLERMO-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, November 13, 2005 8:27 AM Subject: [OHCLER] 7-1-1796,Tim Raredon,Wm Montgomery,+James Fitzpatrick > The new Campbell Co,Ky officials ordered those three mnen,in 1x796,to lay > out a road from the Widow Stevens east to the Mason Co,Ky line. 2. Walter Wood
    3. Hi Larry, While I do not recognize any of the names you listed, I do have a lot of information on the WOOD family in Clermont Co OH. My website is located at http://mywoodfamily.us. Check it out and see if it would be helpful to you. Walter Wood -----Original Message----- From: Larry Dean [mailto:ladean@worldaccessnet.com] Sent: Wednesday, November 09, 2005 11:35 AM To: WOOD-L@rootsweb.com Subject: [WOOD] Wood family in Clermont Co., OH Hi list, I subscribed to this list and am posting the following message here because I tried to send it to a "Kathy" who had posted to the Woods Rootsweb Genealogy Forum back in May of 2001 and my message to her bounced. In her May 2001 message Kathy indicated that her ancestor was Samuel Woods and that she "has a census that indicates his mother was Mary and he had a brother William and a sister as well." The following is my message to her: Kathy, I found your May 12, 2001 posting to the Woods surname forum and would like to compare notes with you. You said your Samuel Woods had a brother William and a sister. I presume this information is from the household headed by Mary Woods in the 1850 census in Dist. No. 2, Clermont Co., OH. I believe that it is your Samuel who is enumerated in the 1860, 1870 and 1880 censuses in Clermont Co., OH. (As Woods in 1880.) I also found what I am confident was Samuel's brother, William, in the 1870 and 1880 censuses in that county. (As Woods in 1880.) I believe Samuel's mother was the Mary Wood enumerated as head of household in Ohio Twp., Clermont Co., OH in 1840. In that census she appears to be a recent widow as she has five children below the age of 10; also five children ages 10-20. I don't know any more about the names of those children than is revealed by the 1850 census. I believe this is the same family enumerated with Isaac Wood as head of household in the 1830 census of Ohio Twp., Clermont Co., OH. In this census, the parents are in the 30-39 age group, and they! have two boys and three girls below the age of 10. Further, I believe this is the family enumerated as Isaac Woods in Byrd Twp., Brown Co., OH in the 1820 census. The only male in this household was age 19-25 and the only female was age 16-25. No children. According to "Ohio Marriages Through 1820," by the Ohio Genealogical Society, Isaac Wood married Mary Dean on Nov. 28, 1819 in Brown Co., OH. According to another source, "Brown County Ohio Marriage Records 1818-1850" by Patricia R. Donaldson, Isaac Wood was married to Mary Dean by William Gilbert, J.P.on 2 Feb 1820. I believe this is the same couple as was enumerated in the 1820 and 1830 censuses I cited above. I know nothing more about Isaac except that there were a lot of people surnamed Wood/Woods in Adams, Brown and Clermont Counties, OH at these times. Mary Dean was the daughter of William Dane/Dean Sr. I have more on his family. Mary was the sister of my gg-grandfather, George W. Dean. As I said, I would like to compare notes with you. I would be particularly interested in any information you have that proves what I said above to be correct or incorrect. Larry Dean Perhaps this information will be of some use to someone on this list. Perhaps someone on this list has a current e-mail address for this "Kathy."
