    3. Pass it on! ----------- From: Pat Walker <pj2w@gte.net> To: IALOUISA-L@rootsweb.com <IALOUISA-L@rootsweb.com> Date: Wednesday, March 15, 2000 8:47 PM Subject: For Those with Ancestors in TX and AR I'm passing this on just in case it might be of interest to someone on the list. Hello List Members, Texarkana USA Genealogical Society has in its possession more than 9,000 Original Marriage Certificates for marriages in Bowie County TX and 2,000 Originals for Miller County AR. The majority of them are from about 1889 to 1935. A few older, some more recent. The Miller County are indexed by both Groom and Bride. The Bowie County are indexed by Groom only. Currently, we are working to index these by Bride as well but it will take a while longer. They can be obtained for the low cost of $2.50, a SASE and a short lineage chart showing your relationship to the individuals. If you had relatives who married in either of these counties in this time frame, I will be happy to check for availabilty of their certificates. If we have them, you will be notifed on where to send your information so that it will reach the proper person. Will also notify you if they are not available. We would love to get all of these Certificates placed in the hands of family members as they would be a great addition to your family records. Please feel free to forward this mail to any list to which you subscribe. Thanks, Doris Lindblad Hstryhntr2@aol.com

    2. Herman Kleine
    3. Lora, The Clermont Library at Batavia, genealogy section has a map and the listing of grave markers for Sewanie/Felicity cemetery. Additionally they have microfilm with burial certificates for at least the Sewanie part. It today, so far as I know operated by the village of Felicity. I suppose you know that it was originally an IOOF cemetery. You didn't say how recent a burial you were looking for. This cemetery continues to be active. 1. CARTER
    2. George Washington (Wash) CARTER born June 08, 1861 in Williamsburg, Ohio, son of Samuel CARTER & Olivia/Olive FREEMAN. George died February 05, 1938, in Cincinnati, Hamilton County, Ohio. There seems to be a scandal about him...seems he burnt down a house or barn for hire. He traveled to Amelia at night to see a lawyer. This was sometime between 1908 - 1927. Anyone have an idea when this was? It must have been in Williamsburg....just guessing. George was married several times after the death of his wife in 1908. First he married a Mrs. Lanham who had a hotel in Williamsburg. This ended in divorce. If this sounds familiar to you, please contact me. Eileen

    1. Dunkard marriages recorded in BRACKEN Co,Ky
    2. HERMON B FAGLEY
    3. Perhaps it was the custom to cross to Augusta,Bracken Co,Ky,or perhaps the Dunkard minister of the very s e Clermont-s w Brown Co, Oh Dunkard churches lived in Bracken, and recorded his marriages there, but I see 10-20 of the marriages of the young ,very southern Ohio dunkards are recorded in Bracken Co,Ky. 1797-1810 ERA. There came a day when many Baptist churches converted,in part,or in whole,to the Campbellite Christian church. It looks to me that the German Baptists-Dunkard's also converted. The 2 Christian churches just back from the river south of Felicity, and [2] north of Augusta ,seem converted. I always included Benton til I read it's political, post civil war reason for splitting from MT ZION. My grandfather,Charles Fagley [Fagaly] m 2nd,aged,Harriet Miller McAfee,of Benton, and of Williamsburg twnsp.
