Walt, While looking for something else I ran across this information that may be of help. On page 360 of the 1880 History of Clermont County in a bio of one Samuel Miller is found the following reference. "He was married March 25, 1847, by Rev. Zachiariah Wharton, to Miss Julia Ann Gue, daughter of George and Nancy (Daughters) Gue, who was Nov. 25, 1820. Her parents were early emigrants from Maryland to Kentucky, where they resided about a year and then removed to near Neville, in this county." Hi Again, I forgot to mention that William Cooper was in the 79th. OVI and according to his records from the National Archives, he lists his address as Milford (2 or 3 times) and Goshen (once). Sorry for any confusion regarding Morgan's Raiders. I don't believe the Cooper's farm sustained any damage. However I have read that the entire area was in a panic and I think they were just caught up in it and hid to be on the safe side. Sharon R. Schwartz

Hi, I'm looking for my great-great grandfather's family. His name was William Cooper and he moved to Clermont County from Hamilton County sometime between 1844 and 1862. I would like to find out where he lived down there (I'm from Covington, Oh.; a little north of Dayton) so I can drive down and see it. Like many of you I have heard the story of Morgan's Raiders and I'd like to see the barn where they all hid to avoid him. I'd also like to find out about where his parents were from. Here's all the information I have on him. It comes from his bible. William Cooper born August 27, 1820 (Hamilton County?) Married Lucinda Harris July 2, 1844, died Dec. 12, 1892 in Montgomery County, OH. His siblings were: Samuel, Jarrett, Elin (Ellen?) who married a Jim McGuire and Lizzie who married Jim Wallice (Wallace?) No dates given . William's parents were Jesse Cooper and Dorcas (last name unknown). I don't know any more about them. Children of William Cooper and Lucinda Harris: 1. Jessie Cooper b. April 29, 1845 m. I need some clarification. In the DAR cemetery inscription book: MARION MCCANN wife is Eliza d. 29 Sep 1872 25 y 2m 7d Private Wood cemetery, on Turkey Rd. in Washington Twp, Clermont, OH(Near Laycock family) If took me 5 months last time to get the Film, could someone tell me if I recorded it right,,,,,that it is Marion who died 1872? not Eliza and 1872 is the date? My problem is another note saying he applied for military pension in 1890 but he would have been dead. Could be I mistyped, or another Marian or his widow applied. ....wouldn't those books be dynamite to have on CD's..... ALSO are there any cemeteries in Batavia Twp or Ohio Twp that have not been included in those books? I still cannot find graves of Daniel McCann d 1856 Sarah McCann d 1851 Everyone knows that <A HREF="http://genealogydatabase.com/">GenealogyDatabase .com - The World's Largest Online Family History Resource</A> Heritage Quest is to put all years census on line this fall. They are doing a buy three CD get one free this month.....and I can do look ups until they go on line for 1850 1860 1870 1880 if you have the page number. If you have a lot of Clermont people, you might find them a great thing to own. I'm searching for info on the children of James & Agnes (Hammer/s) Woodmansee who migrated from Fayette Co PA to Clermont Co OH, Bullskin Ck area, but lived there for a very few years, and then removed to Indiana by 1820. Some of their children married in Clermont Co OH and remained there. Agnes was an older half-sister to my ancestor, Augustus Hammer. Lou in Indiana

Does anyone know anything about a Sarah DAY in Clermont Co from at least 1850-1870. I have a Sarah DAY who lived with my gggrandparents Willis and Huldah (FANCHER) LEVI and his wife in the Felicity area of Clermont County for at least 20 years (showed up on census in 1850-1870) but who has no relationship to the family that I can find. She was aged 28, b. OH on 1850 census; aged 34 b. OH on 1860 census and aged 52 b. IN on 1870 census. On the 1870 census, it says "lives with son" -- but Willis is not her son; Huldah is not her daughter; all the children in the household are those of Willis & Huldah. It bugs me to have no idea who she is. Thanks.. Betty Jo
