Not too bad. I have several others that I will probably be sending out this weekend, hopefully will have additional additions to add to my line when they get back. Holly snead@qwestinternet.net

    2. OK--this is a bit off subject but, Holly Snead, how long did it take to get the social security application? I've just recently sent for a couple (not my Clermont County ancestors) and am curious how long I have to wait. My Clermont people are John N. Wayne (aka Waine born in NY 1809), his son Benjamin Franklin Wayne who married Eva Evelyn Bell (may be his second wife). Thanks, Julie Raffety

    3. John, Vine St. Hill Cemetery is where my parents are buried. The main entrance is on the west side of Vine St. just south of Mitchell Ave. The cemetery can be reached by exiting east at the I-75 Mitchell Ave. exit in Cincinnati and going east on Mitchell Ave. There is a back entrance to the cemetery a few hundre yards east of the interstate exit on the right side. The cemetery office is located just inside the main entrance. This cemetery seems to have mostly graves of people of German heritage. 1. George Dansberry Mary Case Marriage
    2. Gordon Snead
    3. I have been working on my Dansberry line and have just received Social Security application for Ora Cutler Dansberry, a brother of my great grandfather, Walter Dansberry, showing parents as George Dansberry and Mary Case. From past research, I have found George and Mary married in Clermont Co., on 9/6/1863. and am looking for any information on the parents and siblings of George and Mary. I believe I have seen research on the Case family showing Mary's parents as Nelson Case and Sarah ??? If anyone has anything validating the Case family of Nelson and Sarah, I would appreciate hearing back. I have seen their children as the following: Sarah Case Nancy Case Lloyd Case George W. Case Harris Case Mary Case m. George Dansberry 9/6/1863 Elizabeth A Case Amanda Case Tabitha E. m. William Dansberry 8/11/1867 Additionally, I believe Nelson's parents were shown to be Alexander Case and Elizabeth ??? Their children were shown as: Nelson Case m. Sarah ??? Lloyd Case m. Catherine Craycraft Mary Ann Case m. Jesse McLefresh Sarah Sally Case m. Elijah McLefresh Nancy Case m. Zadock McLefresh John Case Margaret Case Tabitha Elder Case m. Samuel Hildreth Joseph Case m. Mary Prather Lloyd, shown above, in these records was the father of Alexander Case, Elizabeth Case and Charles Case, and this Elizabeth was found to be married to Francis Dansberry. If this is all accurate, it appears plausible that William and Francis Dansberry were brothers of my George Dansberry and am hoping someone might have further records on these families. If this information is accurate, or if there are corrections, I would appreciate hearing back, as I would like to add this information to my files for further research. If anyone knows anything about the Dansberry line, I would like to get with you as well, as I am searching out parents of George. Have heard that there are possibilities that the families came from New Jersey before settling in Ohio, and I would like to see if I can get my Dansberry line traced back to the Jersey lines. Also would like to get a copy of George and Mary's marriage certificate and would like to know where to write to and cost to get copies of their marriage records. Thanks for any assistance on these families. I have names of 8 of the children of George and Mary, and believe there are an additional 5 that I have not yet found. Family recollections indicate there were 13 children born into the family. If anyone would like info on the children of George and Mary let me know, and I'll fill in the next couple of generations. 2. June Jacobs Jordan
    3. I don't know about the Clermont Library but the Ohio Historical Library in Columbus has 85 rolls of microfilm of the Clermont courier as well as other Clermont Co. papers. The OHS Archives/Library contains the largest collection of Ohio's newspapers in existence-- 4,500 titles, 20,000 volumes, and almost 48,000 rolls of microfilm of Ohio titles (some microfilmed by the federally-funded Ohio Newspaper Project). They are available in the reading room at the library or by inter library loan. There is a $3.00 charge per reel, per order. http://www.ohiohistory.org/index.html Go to this link and type in Newspaper and search or scroll down to Archival Research Tools then Newspaper Index.

    1. Re: Regarding Loveland, Clermont
    2. LBoorom
    3. Symmes Twp is in Hamilton Co. Parts of what once was Symmes Twp. have been annexed by Loveland (the city) of which involves 3 counties, Hamilton, Warren & Clermont. In the early (and later part as well) of the 1800's, the Stewarts lived in the northern part of Symmes Twp. near the Warren Co. border, of which today some has been annexed by Loveland. What is now Union Cemetery, next to the Symmes Twp. Administration Building was owned by the Stuart family. I have a copy of the deed in 1829 where Andrew Stewart sold the land to the "Trustees of the Burying Ground" for $1.00. I believe years ago it was called "Stewarts Cemetery", but is now called Union Cemetery. Only a few of the records have ever been published (from cemetery readings by the DAR), Symmes Twp. now has control and maintenance of the grounds, records etc. and will give information over the phone. (513-683-6644). I guess it would depend upon what kind of records you seek, but land, wills etc. would all still be in Hamilton Co. I'm unsure if Loveland kept their own birth or death records in the later years, so I would imagine if the event occurred in the Hamilton Co. part of Symmes/Loveland, those records would again be found with Hamilton Co. if they exist after the many court house fires. 3. Henry, the caretaker at the cemetery has an office with files. He has copied everything that is written on the tombstones onto 3x5 cards. The trick is to find him at the office, as he has many things to do around the cemetery. I was there Memorial week-end of 1999 and couldn't find anyone in the office to look and see if my Elijah Cornwell and Phebe Edwards Cornwell were buried there. I am going to try the phone number that Diane posted. Thank you Diane and Best Wishes to all. Janine in TN

    1. Dee Franz THANK YOU
    2. Hi , I want to thank Dee Franz for pointing me in the direction of the Milford Historical Society and also giving me their phone number. I called them in regards to where my ancestor William Cooper lived. All I knew was that according to the 1850 census, he lived next to (or across from) the Lewis Gatch family. The folks at the Historical society called me yesterday and said they had found approximately where this was. It turned out to be in the vicinity of Greenlawn Cemetary, Clertoma and the car dealership. They said that although the houses were no longer standing, they drove over there, got out and walked around looking for any traces of them. They didn't know me from Adam, yet they did this for me! You people in Milford are very lucky to have such people in your Greater Milford Historical Society. The woman who called me yesterday said that they have a nice library in Promont House so if any of you are looking for Milford area ancestors, it might be worth your while to check them out. Thanks again to all of you! Sharon Schwartz

    2. Dear Participants: Can anyone please tell me where Symmes Township is in relation to Loveland and Clermont County during the 1850's. I am looking for information regarding an Elmer S. Williams and his wife Lillian Stewart. The only trace I can find of them is in the census and that states the above. Loveland is confusing to me because the boundries have changed I believe. Does anyone know what current county would hold those old records. Thank you very much for your help, you are most kind. JTB

    2. Audrey Ulm
    3. Looking for information regarding the parents of Maria McCUNE WINTERS. Maria was born in PA ca 1810. The family was in Clermont county OH in 1831 when she married James Winters, Jr. I think that her father was Samuel McCUNE and an uncle was Isaac McCUNE. Can anyone tell me if I am on the right track? Any type of information regarding the McCUNE and/or the WINTERS family will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

    1. Re: McCUNE FAMILY - mid 1800s
    2. History of Clermont County , 1880 by Louis Everts states the following on page 548: Jackson Township "Samuel and Isaac McCune ,two brothers , were natives of Pennsylvania , emigrated to Ohio , Samuel settling on a farm now owned by John Johnston ,and Isaac on a farm now owned by J.M. and Aaron Hutchinson. Samuel was the father of five children who are now remembered - Isaac , Maria , James , Harriet , and Mary. Isaac's children were Ely , Samuel , Sarah , Isaac , and one whose name is not remembered.. The McCoy's , Moorheads , and McCunes were all related , but few of their posterity are now living in this county." Hope this helps. 3. Beth, I would appreciate it if you could look on your CD for Indiana for the marriage of Reuben R. Houghton and Arnetta (surname unknown). Their first child, Clarence, was born January 27, 1859 in Indiana. She was born in Indiana according to census records and her husband was born in KY. There were relatives that lived in Jefferson Co. IN. This couple lived in 1870 in Ohio Co. IN. By 1882 they were living in Felicity in Clermont Co., OH. I have been unable to find them in the 1860 Indiana Census Index. He was a photographer and travelled the Ohio River over the years. Thanks for your trouble.
