    3. You got me Herm, i have no idea who Stanford Allen is. Don't even know where the name came from. Bertha Gelvin Minnick and i started researching in Batavia in about 1950. I think she turned that Courthouse inside out. In fact she and the clerks found my Gelvin Girls when the moved the safe. Most of my father's family is from Brown and Clermont Co. Any help in finding Sanford Allen Gelvin's parents will be appreciated. Related families: PRIMMER, NcGEBBON, TOWNSLEY, HANCOCK, BOLANDER, IRETON, SIMON, GLAZIER, HARCOURT, LEGGETT. Thanks, June

    1. Robert & Comfort DUNN
    2. There is a high degree of probability that Robert and Comfort DUNN were my ggg-grandparents through their son Joseph DUNN. I've located Robert's will on microfilm and know he died sometime before August, 1837 in Clermont Co. I've found his wife, Comfort DUNN, born about 1772 in New Jersey, as late as the 1860 Clermont Co. census. To date I've not been able to find a record of Comfort's death. The Clermont Co. resources in the Denver Public Library are very limited. Would appreciate it if anyone could provide Comfort's date of death and the location of their burials. 3. Herman B. Fagley writes "there is no Neville in 1812". Think most of us who have researched for years, in Clermont Co., know that. Believe i also said WASHINGTON twp. In 1812 this would be an area would have to dig in my research to find if Washington was a township then. That is the AREA he owned in. And SANFORD ALLEN GELVIN, to answer "who is this man Sanford Allen Gelvin", is my Gr. Gr. Grandfather and i have searched for his parents since the 1950s. And the rest of the details are in the query. Thank you, June P.S. Who is Herman B. Fagley??

    3. Please note my new email address. Quite a good many year ago i ran an ad in the newspaper in Batavia. The ad said in so many words.. I would give a one hundred dollar reward to any one who could furnish PROOF of the parents of SANFORD ALLEN GELVIN. The reward still stands. Sanford was born in about 1821 probably in Neville or Washington twp. Jeremiah GELVIN who also lived there and was the age to be the father married 2nd Temperance LEGGETT and there are LEGGETTs in Kentucky. (Montgomery, Bath or Bourbon Co.,) Sanford was the Mayor of Neville and on the school board. He married Lydia PRIMMER daui. of William PRIMMER. He and Lydia were buried in the IOOF Cemetery in Neville. In Neville and Washington twp. there is a James Gelvin owned land in 1812, was in 1820 census with Jeremiah (two different houses) in 1830 is only Jeremiah and then there is Sanford and Jeremiah (two different houses). His death certificate does not give his parents. I do not know who buried him and if any of this is in the Newspapers. I have looked for fifty years for this man. Any takers???? Thank you, June

    3. So close to identifying the father of John Young who married Malinda Derrough in Clermont in the mid 1830's. A John Young is on census 1840 with John Derrough in Clermont Franklin twsp. The ages are right. In 1820 there was a Jacob Young in Clermont, Franklin twsp., as was John Derrough. In 1830 there was a Christpher Young in Clermont, Franklin Twso, In 1850 my gg grandmother Victoria Olivia Young was in the household of Rosanne Young in Clermont, Ohio Twsp. In the house hold was William Young, b 1821 in Ohio. Roseanne was 68. obviously Victoria's g mother. John Young father of Victoria dies before 1850 as Marlinda Derrough marries Lazarus Ross and faded off toe Jennings Co., Indiana and on to Pike Co., Illinois. William Young turns up in Harrison Co. Ky. on the 1860 census with new wife Susan Lail Wiley. Same Manning children on census there aas were in Clermont in 1850. Victoria and Jacob Y Coil were married in 1855 in Harrison Co. Ky in the home of William L. Young. Susan Lail Wiley Young was the sister of Jacob Y. Coils Mother. Elizabeth Lail. Involved. Will share. Jacqueline

Many of those families (Schuyler, Hoffman, Philhower,Tiger,Apgar) are still living in the area. Nancy
