    3. I'm glad to help if I can. Henry FITZPATRICK born in Pa. Elizabeth JOHNSON marr. 20 Jan 1792 Bourbon Co. Ky. (I got the marriage date from some records submitted to the mormon church. I'm afraid I don't have the actual citation) I think they went to Lawrence Co. about 1811-1814. Henry and Elizabeth, along w/ some HAMER'S are buried at Spring Mill Park. Children: 1. James married Ann BEHYMER. They were living in Lawrence Co. when he died while on a tour of the river. She later moved back to Cler. Co. 2. Solomon born 14 Dec 1793 Crab Orchard, Ky. He married Sarah DONTHAM, and they had a large family. She died and he married again, and had more children. 3. Johnson married Isabelle BATMAN. I believe they stayed in Cler. Co. 4. Elizabeth married Hugh HAMER, 28 Feb 1822. 5. Hannah married Thomas HAMER, 30 Jun 1823 (Both of these marriages took place in Lawrence Co. Ind. I may have misled you when if I said the HAMER'S were in Clermont Co. I don't know that for sure but there are little hints here and there. There is a HAMERSVILLE on the border of Clark and Clermont Counties. Also a HAMER'S Run listed in the Clermont County History, Pierce twsp. I don't show any HAMER'S in "Clermont County Deeds and Mortgages" 1791-1830", or "Clermont Marriage Records" 1800-1850. There is a Thomas L. HAMER estate, shown in Mar and Sep 1849. One reference is Bk. S, Pg. 75, the other is Bk.S, Pg. 273. Also, Eliza J. HAMER, estate, 01 Jul 1899, A.10-383 About 10 years ago I was corresonding w/ a Paul W. Fitzpatrick at 104 Meadow Vue Ct. N. Dr. Indianapolis 46277. At some point the address wasn't any good anymore. I think he was a decendent of Johnson FITZPATRICK. _________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com. 3. How right you are. It is totally amazing. The only conclusion I can come to is; we all operate w/ a vast amount of subliminal knowledge in our heads that never gets written down, or even though about on a daily basis. If you've lived in a community for any number of years you know people by associating them w/ other family members and friends. How often have we heard someone talk about Mrs. So and So, then someone else says, "Oh, wasn't she a ----, giving her maiden name. Maybe we need to tap into the old timers of the county who aren't necessarily on the computer. I've lived in Fairbanks Alaska since 1974 but I'd say that I have a pretty good background on most families that have lived here since 1900, and if I don't know them, I know who to ask. Maybe that's just because I'm interested in genealogy in general. We need about 5-10 more Herman Fagley's on this list and then we'll all have answers to our questions. It will be interesting to list what everyone else says about your comments. _________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com. 3. Good Morning Hermon; I have no idea where the name Sanford Allen came from. All i know is what i put on the Ohio List, and the Census has my Grandfather as one of his children. Have found the Sanford in many places, in Colorado (my home) census one of the children is Sanford. In Kentucky where the GELVIN is spelled GILVIN there are Sanfords in those families. Allen appears again, also in Kentucky and in Crawford Co., PA. The GILVINs are related to the GELVINs in Ripley County, Indiana and we know the James there is a brother to Jeremiah in Clermont Co., Census: Clermont Co., Washington twp. then Neville 1812 James Gelvin as owner of land 1820 James (elderly) and Jeremiah 1830 Jeremiah 1840 Jeremiah 1860 Jeremiah age 72 and his family and Sanford A. age 27 and his family, including my Grandfather 1812 - James Gelvin - History states "owned land" 1826 - Jeremiah Gelvin - widower m. Temperance Legate (Legate name in Kentucky) 1832 - Harriett Gelvin - m. James Ward 1834 - Julia Ann Gelvin - m. John Wigglesworth 1836 - Mary Gelvin - m. William Blair 1842 - Sanford Allen Gelvin - m. Lydia Primmer 1846 - Timothy Gelvin - d.b. Dec. 15, 1825 1849 - Rachel Gelvin- m. Lewis Manning (Rachel 17) 1850 - Mary Ann Gelvin- m. Richard C. Massey 1851 - Sanford Lawrence Gelvin - b. son of Sanford A. and Lydia Gelvin The following children have no parents. :-)All GELVIN Harriet Julia Ann Mary Rachel Sanford Allen They were "hatched" under a rock.. I have the same type of record (Clermont co., courthouse) down to 1906, but only what i have included here are the "missing children" or from the "missing parents". My G. Aunt Dora Bolander m. Carr Wigglesworth, not that, that helps any. My grandmother was Callie Francis Bolander m. George Albert GELVIN son of Sanford Allen Gelvin Grandfather and his brother William went to Missouri (not together) It is enough to drive any one crazy. But then maybe you have to be crazy to do this in the first place. I have check across the river, with no results. My father use to tell about ice skating on the river. Also the IOOF Cemetery in Neville was bulldozed in the 60s and they pushed all the stones into the inlet (whatever) on the side away from the river. Some of them are in one piece, some not. Bertha Minnick and i dug in the brambles to find the Gelvin Stone, push others on to the bank, by the tree. The Gelvins have only small foot stones that some kind soul put there and scratched the initials in. It is said they had a tall stone with Sanford, Lydia and Janette on it. The man who bought my G. Aunt's home in Neville took all the pictures, clippings, etc. out and burned them. I will not even attempt to state my feelings. I have included the "LIST" on here in case this should help someone. Any suggestion appreciated. June HERMON B FAGLEY wrote: > > For one thing,Neville was many, many miles from the Batavia courthouse, and > > Batavia newspapers. 3. I have a hard time trying to understand how one family can live in Clermont County from 1812 to nearly 1900 and no one knows of or finds anything (worth talking about) about them, including me. For fifty years i have hunted for SANFORD ALLEN GELVIN b. 1821 d. July 13, 1897 m. Lydia PRIMMER dau. of William and Elizabeth STATTON-PRIMMER. His son Sanford Lawrence GELVIN lived in Neville and m. Cornelia Martin HARCOURT and their children lived in Neville. I have found, the land records, Sanford's death certificate. Jeremiah GELVIN's Will and land transactions and that is about it. Sanford Allen was on the School Board in Neville and was also Mayor in Neville. Why can i find nothing about these???? Completely frustrated. June

    1. I-275 to cemetaries along US RT 50
    2. HERMON B FAGLEY
    3. I hope nobody noticed I skipped directions to Moscow cemetary on Rt 52-I have no idea where it is. And Rt 756 out of Felicity n e will take you to 1-2 acre Mt Zion Methodist just in Brown Co. And Shinkle's Ridge is a 5? acre cemetary due north of Augusta Ky,and RT 52. US RT 50 exit of I-275. 1st, lets go west for 2 big ones .Milford [Old Gatch] and Miamiville. I'll bet the Ward's Corner exit of I-275 west is the easy, but new way,to Miamiville. Anyway, west on US RT 50 1-2 miles, and left-south-on some side street to Milford's, or continue west thru old Milford [stone buildings of 1810] on Rt 50,and just across the bridge over the Little Miami, turn right,or north on RT 126 to the Waldschmidt house,New Germany, Camp Dennison, and Miamiville's cemetary. Also by turning west, you can turn n e or right quickly on RT 131,which has no I-275 EXIT . 131 runs thru Clermont, past cemetaries, and into n Brown Co. Now,east from I-275 on RT 50 a couple miles to Perintown's, or another mile, and left-north on Stonelick-Williams Corner to the earliest Catholic cem, near the covered bridge, St Philomina [?] I guess the safest entry to the Rapp cemetary would be to continue n e on Stonelick-Williams Corners to RT 132,and right,or south a mile. On the west side of Rt 132,just at the break of the hill,is Rapp's. Or,north of the Catholic church, and left,or nw on MT ZION Rd to the 3rd MT ZION-Methodist. I think there is an ol,old Baptist cemetary sw someplace of the RT 50 and RT 222 intersection. Climb the 'Backbone" hill east of that Intersection, and Owensville's I.O.O.F/ will be on the left,or north, before the RT 132N intersection. Or continue east to the RT 50 east light with RT 132 SOUTH, and right,or south a block to a tiny one. And ask somebody in Owensville about No 3. East on Rt 50 is Monteray, with one-someplace. And in that area, the Orson Clark cemetary is just north,or left,on some side road,a short distance. Continue east on RT 50 ,and just east of the Rt 133 intersection,on the right,or south [?] is the Hartman log cabin, and the big Hartman cemetay. But,turning south,or right,on RT 133 a couple miles, and just left on Glancy Corner's-Marathon is Greenberry Methodist [Ezekial Htchison's]. Or you could go left,or north ,on RT 133 to Edenton, and est Woodville, and Newtonsville, and even Blanchester's. Continue east on RT 50, and past Marathon and just in Brown Co is Cranmer's Methodist-1 acre, and east yet is Vera Cruse, and Fayetteville, and St Martin's,and you can turn left,or north in Dodsonville, to some cemetary of size at Anderson State Rd. Lynchburg's north of that ________________________________________________________________ GET INTERNET ACCESS FROM JUNO! Juno offers FREE or PREMIUM Internet access for less! Join Juno today! 1. Cemetaries along RT 32 from I-275.
    2. HERMON B FAGLEY
    3. Most important is that modern RT 32 is a relocated 4 lane highway. Old RT 32- once called Rt 74, is often 1-2 miles south, and along it,the towns, and the cemetaries. And exception would be at the Delapalma Rd exit, just in Brown Co, where Taylor's Chapel and Bloom Rose cemetaries are to the right,or north. Old Rt 74 is one of the names the old highway is now called, west of Batavia, and the cemetary at Olive Branch Methodist comes to mind. Saw today,a new courthouse in Batavia at Main St and RT 222. Batavia had several, including an acre ,on old RT 222 just s of the village, called Moore's [Ely's?] cemetary. The n e corner of old Batavia has the main cemetary. I have reached it following a drum major, or a hearsh. Batavia-Williamsburg Pike is the name of old RT 74 east to Williamsburg. I once lived on N High ST off RTS 133-276 2 doors from the Williamsburg cemetary,in the nw corner of the village of Williamsburg. West of I-275,on-off RT 32,are the ROSE-Day cemetary along the highway at the hilltop, and the Newtown Flagg cemetary-Anderson Twnsp,Hamilton Co. Also I walked a Martin? family cemetary in front of a factory I call Heekin Can,but has a new name. Many, many indians once lived in the Newtown area,. Rich bottoms settled 1791 era by Aaron Mercer, etc. ________________________________________________________________ GET INTERNET ACCESS FROM JUNO! 1. I-275 to Clermont's cemetaries east along US RT 52.
    2. HERMON B FAGLEY
    3. Somebody's going to have to aid me with some of the routes east from I-275 across Clermont. US RT 52 runs east from I-275 in the Ohio River bottoms. Always, the Ohio River will be to the right,or south, and the river hills and creek valleys to the left,or north. Almost always, the cemetaries will be to the left,or north, out of flood waters and away from eroding river banks. The 1st 2 exits of I-275 north of the Ohio River heading east put ypu on RT 52. The 1st 4-5 miles will be in Anderson Twnsp,Hamilton Co, and somebody else will have to post it's cemetaries. I guess 9 Mile Rd is the 1st east of the Clermont Co line, and one could go north to Mt Moriah by turning right on RT 125,and quickly left. Or one could go north on 9 Mile 1\2 mile to the bridge, and n e up the hill to Locust Corner, and the modern Pierce Twnsp cem. East on RT 52 a mile is 10 Mile,or Rt 749[?] . Couple miles up it,on the right,or south, is the 1st 10 mile Baptist cemetary, and the creek bottom and hills were several Behymers Or Becklehymers. Follow Rt 749[?] to RT 132. To the north a couple blocks is the 2nd Baptist or Lindale Baptist of Maine and Nantucket folk.. To the right,on RT 132, ON THE RIGHT,OR WEST,IS MT Pisgah Methodist East on RT 52 past the 1st power plant is New Richmond, with several cemetaries. They are most all to the left,or north, with the biggest,Greenmound, on the n e corner of town. Watkins Hill is adj the high school. I would be guessing beyond that. East of New Richmond a bit, the tiny Collard cemetary is to the right,or south, and FRANK WILLIS rd angles up the river hill. Atop the hill, turn left on Franklin Rd to little Franklin Methodist. Also, just a bit further east,is Clermontville-Laurel road running up Boat Run VALLEY. Just atop the River hill is Mt Zion,or St Paul'sand a couple miles further is LAUREL, or Carmel Methodist, where the Pope has a tombstone. East on Rt 52 to Pt Pleasant, and the birth place home of Gen-Pres US Grant, 1822, and open at times. Left on RT 232,and soon left,or west to a little road leading to Pt Pleasant cemetary, noted for the burial of Rev War vet Lawrence Byrn [mine]. Or follow RT 232 a bit further, and left,or east,on Rt 756. To the right,b before the RT 743 intersection is my FISHER'S ; to the north on RT 743 a mile is my BROWN'S. But continue east on RT 756 past the Rt 743 intersection is Calvery Methodist. 5+ acres Back on RT 52,EAST, the 2nd power plant looms, and just beyond Moscow. Then Neville, with it's cemetary to the left, just as the river hill elevates. I'm not qualified exactly where the Woods, or the Chilo cem are,but north from RT 52, on RT 222 is about right and takes you also to the Mt Pleasant cem at RT 133. AND RT 133 into Felicity, and it's n e edge is it's cemetary, but Hopewell is 1-2 miles sw of town, and Smyrna Presbyterian a mile east of Felicity, and many family cemetaries 2-3 miles north. ________________________________________________________________ GET INTERNET ACCESS FROM JUNO! 1. I-275 to Clermont's bigger cemetaries along Rt 125=Beechmont=Ohio Pike.
    2. HERMON B FAGLEY
    3. Remember,I've been shut-in years, and many changes may have occured. Mt Moriah Methodist [once Baptist] once between Withamsville and Tobasco on old RT 125 [Mt Moriah Drive. I-275 AND RT 125 EXIT [sign may say Amelia,or Beechmont,or Ohio Pike. ] It's only 1\2 mile from exit, but on,now, side street. Go east from I-275 on Rt 125 down a grade, and up again, but you must be in the inside lane as you go up,for you are turning north,or left, before topping that 1st grade on Mt Moriah Drive, which I think has a traffic light. Church has been sometimes visable to the north as you are on those grades. Remember, leave the ram headed east, and quickly get in the middle,or left,or north lane, for you are turning left on the 1st [?] road. 5 acres cemetary, maybe. Amelia I.O.O.F. IS SIMILAR. Go east from I-275 on RT 125 4-5 miles, and be in the feft lane to turn left ,or north, just past the funeral home, that sit's on several acres of lawn . 5 acres, maybe Or continue east 2-3 blocks, and turn left,or north at the Methodist church for it's Amelia Methodist cemetary. Contnue east, and turn right,or south,in Hamlet, on RT 132 South [traffic light],and a couple miles on left to Lindale Baptist [2 acres]. Or continue east of Rt 125 just past RT 132 North's traffic light,to the acre cemetary behind Mt Holly Christian [Republician. 1 acre Or continue east on Rt 125 to the RT 222 south, not north ,traffic light, and turn left,or north on old Rt 125, and then left into East Fork State Park, and a mile to Old Bethel Methodist. 5 acres Or turn left,or south,at that same Rt 222 south light, and 3-4 miles,on right, is Monroe Twnsp [once Scotch Presbyterian] 5 acres Or continue east on Rt 125 2 miles,on the right,or south, side is me Or continue east on Rt 125,and the Swing family cemetary is atop a cement retaining wall,on the left,or North side. Or continue east on RT 125 into Bethel, and left,or north on RT 133 [Main St]] to Bethel's 2 acre pioneer Baptist mostly cemetary Or continue east on RT 125 4 BLOCKS TO East Street, and left ,or south to 10 acre Tate Township cemetary, and my parents. Or continue east, and just in Brown Co was a Maine settlement called " Yankeetown. Several tiny family cemetaries have been recorded. Hamersville,Georgetown,Russellville,Decatur, West Union, Lynx,Blue Creek are further east on RT 125. I know only Confidence cemetary in Georgetown. Turn leftt,or north,at the traffic light ,and go north past the courthouse, and Confidence is[?] o the left past what I remember as the edge of town, but likely is in town. ________________________________________________________________ GET INTERNET ACCESS FROM JUNO! 1. Searching
    2. Greetings to All: I have been looking for several years now for any record at all of a Elmer S. Williams married to a Lillian Stewart somewhere about 1887-1888. The family was from Symmes Township, Loveland Village. Their childrens names were Cresa born Oct.1888, Steward born November 1890, Lester born July 1892,Russell born December 1895. 1900 Census indicates that they were all born in Ohio, but I cannot find any records of the family besides what the 1900 Census stated. I am wondering there are any military records available and any church records. However, since I am not from Ohio and Loveland encompassed so many counties , I guess I am alittle confused. Any help you can provide with be of great help. Thank you all so very much J. Banas

    1. Historic old Interstate I-275 thru Clermont
    2. HERMON B FAGLEY
    3. 1960's,I guess,Interstate I-275 was built around Cincinnati, and goes thru the western sections of Clermont's Union and Miami townships, [and a bit of the nw corner of Pierce twnsp, and is the most heavily traveled road in Clermont. There are motels,at least,at it's RT 32,and it's RT 125 exits that researchers from afar might use . North to south, I-275 crosses the Little Miami River near Loveland, and near 1 of Clermont's 1st 2 forts, built by the sons, and sons-in-law of Capt Thomas Paxton that 1st winter,1795-96 after the Treaty of Greenville brought peace. Some-all? of them had fought at the nw Ohio's 1794 Battle of Fallen Timbers. Going south, the highway is in the wooded and rough river hills of the Little Miami a few miles, with Miamitown, Camp Dennison, and Waldshmidt's-Kugler's Mill and 'New Germany" not visable a couple miles west. They are where history was made in this section, with civil war's Camp Dennison very important. The busy RT 28 and I-275 intersection at n e Milford was the center of one of Clermont's very 1st settlement's. Harner's Run. Milford, etc. About 2-3 miles sw,at Terrace Park,in Hamilton Co had been 2 very earl, and exposted forts. Covalt's and Round Bottom Station, and inbetween, Mill Ford. This is the most important section of earliest western Clermont Co. Topography has limited devolopement at I-275 AND US Rt 50,somewhat,with flood plains of the East Fork of the Little Miami ,and it's adjoining hillsides. Still just east of Milford, and just west of once busy Perintown. The important thing is the East Fork and it's mile wide bottoms of rich farm land that have grown more corn than anyplace else in Clermont. And,once water powered mills ground that corn, and many stills made whisky. The East Fork is "the" major waterway inside Clermont. It's got far wider bottoms than the main Little Miami running the western boundry of Miami Township. It's exits at Marathon,Oh,and then bi-sects Perry Township in Brown Co. Williamsburg,Batavia,Lake Harsha, and the mouth of many smaller creeks like STONELICK, are east,or se, for it winds it's way. Climbing the hill to the south,we soon cross little Salt Run, where Malott ran a salt works at a lick, that must have attracted game ,and the wildlife surely made a trace [road] south to Witham's Big Spring at the I-275-RT 125 EXIT. Along that 3-4 mile trace,at the RT 32 exit,is an area now known as Eastgate, and it is 'the" major commercial area of Clermont. If Mall's, and huge stores, and junk food, and motels are your thing ,this is your exit. Rt 32 . Mt Carmel, and Summerside, and Glen Este are older names swallowed by Eastgate. Once many Jerseymen settled this area. Batavia, with it's courthouse[s] and genealogy research library, are east just off NEW Rt 32. [Batavia exit signs. And campers, east of Batavia, and south of the big FORD plant, is the East Fork State Park's campground off old RT 32. South 2 miles is the RT 125-Beechmont-Amelia exit of 1-275,which sits atop ,once, the hamlet of Tobasco. Mt Moriah cemetary is 1\2 mile by crow, and 1 busy mile by road, hidden back, once Old Rt 125-[Mt Moriah Drive]. Mt Moriah sits at "Witham's big spring",and between the hamlets of wITHAMSVILLE and Tobasco. 1800,it was a settlement of very down east Maine Baptists, surrounded by Jerseymen. 10-11 miles east,on the south side of busy RT 125,sits your author. Ruth Fagley says his big mail box, and the only sign left advertizing his, once, business, says "Fagley's Apples" in 2 foot letters, but not now visable going east to west. But,the big, fat, old man exercising walking Rt 125's s birm is me. I-275 may hit a corner of Pierce twnsp bridgeing Hopper Hill Rd,and then crosses s e Anderson Twnsp,Hamilton Co,Oh , but it's headed sw to cross the Ohio River at Coney Island-River Downs-Riverbend-California . the 2 exits at RT 52,AND CONEY ISLAND, are the way to follow US RT 52 EAST alont the Ohio River to s Clermont Co,Areas. The Ohio River, along s Clermont, was the major "interstate highway" of the 1790-1890 period. Flatboats and then steamboats. And our modern way to downtown Cincinnati, is to follow I-275 across into Campbell Co,Ky, and then follow I-461 [?] NW back into Ohio 8th and Main is Cincinnati's library, but the Hamilton Co Historical Society library,is major, and n w of downtown in what once was Union RR Termial-an art decco building . Also,in my Prodigy years, mention was made of the Began library at U Cincinnati.

    3. I'm interested in the REED family who had property in Anderson twsp. right on the Hamilton/Clermont border. The wife's name may have been Christina REED. They had at least one daughter Nancy Jane who married James Monroe FITZPATRICK. James and Nancy lived in Withamsville. His father was William. _________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com. 1. Some of the early Germans 1995-1805 to Clermont-Brown
    2. HERMON B FAGLEY
    3. There was an intermarriage between one of the most important Felicity and Lewis Twnsp,Brown Co German's [Bolender's and in-laws Shinkles, and the most important in the Milford,Clermont- Hamilton Co, Christian Waldschmidt.. The lattr d 1814,but his stone house on RT 126survivies where his mills drew a settlement of Germans, that spread into Goshen and Miami Twnsp's,if not sw Warren Co. Waldschmidt's 1st wife was a Bolender, and his father,Rev Waldschmidt's church records of the Reading,Pa-Lebanon,Pa,Heidleberg,Pa region survive,in print, and perhaps on-line. Have to walk dog. O'K' Wm Penn recruited Germans for his colony of Pa. Counties like Lancaster,Lebanon, and Berks were- are largley German in many neighborhoods. 1729 Pa [?] Pa started keeping ships rosters of in-coming German's ,and they are on-line. German churches often kept far better records than English. And many survive,in-part on-line. There is a Brushy Valley in Centre Co,mid Pa where many migrating to Clermont spent a few years. Don't waste much time on that 5-15 years, unless you need something. Penn State U area of mid Pa. German's are more likely found where the land has hills. Watch for multiple spellings Polender=Bolender=Bolander, Vogelen=Vogelei=Fagaly=Fagley Schenkel= Shinkle you get the idea. Leever has multiple, but I forget what. This makes using search engines harder, but not impossible. Even rootsweb. FEGLEY-L-request@rootsweb.com BOLENDER-L-requst@rootsweb.com SUBSCRIBE Becklehymer=Picklesimer=BEHYMER=B'HYMER Book on the latter is Picklesimer. And "The Fagaly family in America" . Library may have just the book you need, but you are searching for wrong spelling. Never, never, never say our name is spelled Smith, and the Smyth's down the road are not related, because grandma told you so. Great! Computer locked at this point when kitten jumped on it,,and "locked" I couldn't save this Email, "but' Juno.com now has an "autosave" feature that reposted it after I rebooted. My German chain of thought is gone, however. ________________________________________________________________ YOU'RE PAYING TOO MUCH FOR THE INTERNET! Juno now offers FREE Internet Access! 1. Federal Lake Harsha,in East Fork State Park, built 1970-75 era
    2. HERMON B FAGLEY
    3. Very s e Batavia twnsp, and nw Tate twnsp, and sw Williamsburg twnsp, and even a bit lying o the creeks in Monroe township was bought by the federal,or state governments 1970-75 for the above. The lake also was called East Fork [of the Little Mimi River] til US Congressman Harsha retired. Normal pool of the lake is [?] 2000 acres, but it's to impound flood waters. The state park surrounding it is [?] 7000 acres. Few buildings within their bounds survivied, even those above flood waters. Old Bethel Methodist, and it's 5 acres churchyard, dating from 1807,was the major survivier, thanks,in part,to REV Carl Ely, carlely@juno.com, and my parents, and like minded souls. There were some 1810 era stone houses flattened, and 1-2 log cabins removed to Burke Parke,Bethel, and many lives up-rooted. 3 Suicides. And attempt was made to save the Teegarden-Pinkham-Reece farm as a tourist site, but that failed. Nantucket whalers Pinkham's ran it as a New England industrial farm. Meaning-maple sugar, sorghum, cider mill, saw mill etc and doctoring, instead of entiely farming. And it adjoined Richard Collins mansion farm, which was a Southern plantation type, but those were not the norm. The original population in th park area of 1803-10 was mostly NJ. Princeton and Atlantic City general areas. I guess the park boundry bends around Concord Methodist, and churchyard, and the lake-park is just across a road from a former Methodist church called today, Greenbrier cemetary. Some places in Clermont,an area of 10,000 [?] acres would have included many family cemetaries, but the Jerseymen buried mostly in Methodist churchyards. I hiked the ex-farms quite a bt,til the bull dozers arrivied to clear the lake bed. Last time I've seen much of it. I courted my wife by driving across the former Twin Bridges, now a main pool. I could add many surnames, but it's the middle of the night. And I'm biting my tongue [with my toothless old gums] to keep from adding a few bitter remarks about it's building. There was one blessing,at least. George and Ruth Ann Mattox Rooks were moved in as State Park managers. And remain my dear friends. George's newspaper column of 2 weeks ago was "Fisherman says good bye to a dear friemd,Hermon Fagley" .And he still fishes with my Dad's home made fly rod. Crying--------------
