I've come across an autograph book of Mary Emma TOWNSLEY with autographs of folks from Clermont & Brown Counties in the 1880s. Emma would have been my step great grandmother - second wife of Frank LEVI and close friend of his first wife, Lucy Ann (HICKS) LEVI. I doubt that it is genealogically helpful, but has signatures and locations of a number of folks at that time. If any of them are yours, I'd be glad to make copies of the pages and either scan and Email or copy & snail mail. Names are: George BREDWELL, Felicity Charlie PICKERING Jennie LANCASTER, Mt Orab [note in margin - Dr. Lancaster died Nov. 13, 1886] Adda MALOTT Adda FITE, Mr Orab Aug 15th 1887, died Aug. 19 18_5 Ellie L. Jacqueline: I am sitting in sunny southern California, but I have the microfilm on loan at my local LDS Family History Center (the first one listed below). The duplicate tax records are available on microfilm for the following years from the LDS Church. They cost $3.50 per roll to order. They usually take about a week to arrive and can be viewed for about 6 weeks. The tax records prior to 1816 have not been filmed. Either they don't exist or the LDS Church just didn't microfilm them. Does anyone on the list know if the earlier tax records are available?: 1816-1824 FHL US/CAN Film 476476 1825-1826 FHL US/CAN Film 476477 1827-1828 FHL US/CAN Film 476478 1829-1830 FHL US/CAN Film 476479 1831-1832 FHL US/CAN Film 476480 1833-1834 FHL US/CAN Film 476481 1835-1836 FHL US/CAN Film 476482 1837-1838 FHL US/CAN Film 476483 ----- Original Message ----- From: "Jacqueline Wilson" <choir26@email.msn.com> To: "John Charles Tippet" <johntippet@home.com> Sent: Friday, December 29, 2000 7:37 AM Subject: tax records > John: are you sitting in Clermont or are you on a program? > Lordy, how I need tax records for mine in Clermont. Penny:Happy New Year. Spent time in Library of Congress during past week. Found Boys surname in Fayette Co., Pa.(1755) and in Bracken Co., Kentucky(1790). Believe Estella's paternal ancestors are related to this Boys as the name is not all that common anywhere else in the original 13 conlonies. Will write more if you are interested once I sit down to work it out. That really makes you wonder - was it Elizabeth or Martha Logan Gray? Now I'll keep my eye out for a Martha, since looking for Elizabeth hasn't been to successful. HUNTER.----On Thursday, May 7, 1896, aged 85 years, 8 months and 1 day, William Hunter, at residence in this city. Silently and peacefully death has closed a life checkered by adversity through varying scenes of many years, but unmarred and unstqained as in its infant purity. Born on the sixth day of September, 1810, when the spirit that had actuated and prompted American people to independence was yet perceptible and active throughout the nation, it is not strange that the mind of the subject of our sketch was so nurtured and stimulated as to develop that individualism, self-reliance and integrity that has marked the characters of many of the early pioneers. Descendent from a chivalric race and revolutionary fame-raised to combat with hardships and priva-?- trained in natures school and blessed with an iron constitution he was ready to meet whatever lay before him. In Clermont county, Ohio, Nov. 11, 1830, he was married to Miss Jemima Meek. To them were born 10 children, six sons and four daughters. Two of these died in infancy. In the winter of 1849, he started with his family, consisting of 4 sons and 4 daughters, for California, but on account of most of his stock dying there were compelled to stop in Iowa. Remaining here until the spring of 1852, when again they began their long march westward to the shores of the Pacific. Many and trying months journey, and truly only a man with iron nerve could have ever withstood such an ordeal. Late in the fall they arrived at Marysville, Benton county, now Corvallis, where he began his trade as a blacksmith. On the 27th day of March, 1870, his heart partner for forty years, died, and was laid to rest in the Kirk cemetery. He was united again in marriage to Mrs. Elizabeth Howe, on October 22, 1870 at Salem. Happily did they live together for more than 18 years, until at last death closed her eyes to earthly light, December 4, 1888. On the 4th day of January, 1890, he was married to Martha Beamer. Some two or three years later she passes to the great beyond. In Brownsville, on March 14, 1895, he was married to Mrs. Mary McIntrye, still surviving. Many years ago he united with the Cumberland Presbyterian church, and to say that during all this period he has lived a conscientious and consistent Christian is but to express it mildly. He was an honorary member of Brownsville Lodge. No. 26, A.F. & ?. Uncle Billy, as he was familiarly known, was liked and humored by all who knew him. Integrity and honesty were the pillars upon which he had built the foundation of his character, yet tempered with the simplicity of a child. The funeral services were conducted at the Baptist church this afternoon, and in accordance with his expressed wishes, were conducted by Rev. Sperry, after which the remains were laid to rest in the city cemetery, under the supervision of the Masonic Lodge, of this city. Time furrowed the rugged cheek And silvered the auburn hair, Death has brought calm relief, And rest from the world of care. Thanks for your help. Anne DWilso147@aol.com

Ba[r]ker in Campbell Co., KY about 1840 or so. He died some time between the 1850 census and Oct 1857 when Sarah md. Joseph Ball Dameron who had been married first to Francis Herndon [who died in 1849]. Joseph died in 1889 in California, Campbell Co., KY according to his obit in the KY Post or Journal, but I can't find anything on Sarah. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thank you so much--AGAIN. You all have been so helpful. Happy holidays. I have contacted Campbell Co., KY via e-mail, but don't believe they have a list like Darke Co. Mitzi

Marion: Thank you for providing this new information! The Oliver O Beckelhymer you found is number #201 on the Beckelhymer descendancy narrative of my web page. Point your browser to: http://members.home.net/johntippet/ Starting from Elder Johan George Beckelhymer, click on John, Sr, then John, Jr then Benjamin, then Isaiah, then Oliver Perry. I don't know why I have the middle name as Perry and the census had his middle initial as O. I have Oliver's daughter, Alice (you have Allen), born in Eureka, Woodford County, IL on 22 Oct 1884 (married Glen Gordon on 21 Oct 1908 in Council Bluffs, IA) and his son Arthur, born 20 Apr 1888 in North Loup, Valley County, NE (Oliver seems to have traveled around a lot). BTW: Oliver's children do not appear on my web page because I have limited the number of generations to 5 from the progenitor, Elder Johan George Beckelhymer. Is there any chance I could get a copy of this census enumeration? I would be happy to pay for your expenses.
