    1. Re: Margaret Mitchell Rardin & Stephen Bennett
    2. JB, Most (not all) of the Rardins moved from Clermont Co. to places in IN. There were some who remained across the river in Campbell Co., KY. My sources also have that Margaret Mitchell and John Rardin were married in Franklin Co., IN. John died Nov. 29, 1836. Perhaps Margaret was originally from Clermont Co., still had family there, and moved back after his death. My information (I've not verified it) has that John Rardin and Margaret Mitchell had 5 children: ---Emmeline Rardin, married Abraham Bayless ---Greenup M. Rardin, b. 1818, Cole Co., IL; m. Catharine Voorhees, 1848, Franklin Co., IN ---Theodore Rardin, b. Dec. 27, 1827; m. Margaret Patterson; served as Union soldier ---James Rardin, b. June 27, 1829, Franklin Co., IN ---John Mitchell Rardin, b. Nov. 8, 1834; d. April 28, 1892; m. Margaret Seal , 1860, St. Genevieve, MO Following is a site for Rardin family info. I have a little not given there. Do feel free to contact me directly. _http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~rardin/_ (http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~rardin/) Happy Hunting! -Judy In a message dated 3/2/2005 3:46:22 PM Central Standard Time, [email protected] writes: Stephen's granddaughter wrote an autobiography in 1937 stating the following: "Grandfather was married the second time to a Mrs. Raredon, mother of two sons. One was a Union Pacific Agent." My research has unearthed tha Margaret Mitchell married John Rardin in Indiana before coming to Clermont Co., Ohio. However, I have been unlucky in identifying the 2 sons that are mentioned in the autobiography. Do you have any information regarding John Rardin and Margaret Mitchell?

    2. Stephen Bennett was one of several children of Patrick Bennett ( I have list of children if requested) who lived near the Indian Creek. When Patrick came to America just before the Rev war his wife was Elizabeth Smith but his will ( probated Aug. 8 1836 Clermont Co. ) shows widow as Margaret , with no other information. If any one should happen to see any thing about this it would be most helpful as an information starting place
