    1. Re: [OHCLER] Private or Family burial grounds
    2. I read the list Yolanda posted. Some are on the very edges of Batavia township. Amelia I.O.O.F is just across Ohio Rt 125 from that part of Amelia village that was in Pierce,or pre 1853,Ohio township.Amelia Methodist 2 blocks.Mt Holly Church of Christ- Republican near Pierce and Monroe. And the East Fork Baptist was on the NE Union-nw Batavia township line. Suppose it might be 'Rustic Valley. Old Bethel Methodist is 5 tended acres 1\2 mile outside the old s e Batavia township line. I know of 3 other locations .Foot of the island in Lake Harsha had a couple tombstones . Under the saddle dam,in the yard of a Moore mobile home were 1-2 tombstones.Pinkham farm had a grave or two. Moore Cemtary of 1 acre has few stones left.most were moved to the more modern Batavia cemetary.Remaining tombstones are scattered to the edes of the acre, hinting it was once nearly full. [Old Rt 222 n edge of Batavia]. Yolanda's list named few,or zero,in the n e 1\4 of Batavia township. Some was settled in 1806. Aillen Whitt copied the black peoples cemetaries [2-3]in New Richmond the DAR skipped. Possible same thing happened in Batavia [?] Lucy Run cemetary was by-passed when a curve was removed from Ohio Rt 132. Alexander Thompson's was on the State Highway garage area of Ohio Rt 132. Very northern Batavia township, near Ohio Rt 222 and US RT 50,WAS settled by 1800.

    3. In Everts 1880 "History of Clermont County", there is an Andrew Stoner listed as a property owner in Washington Township in 1826. Correct to my earlier census information in Sycamore Township in 1820: Andrew Stoner has 1 son, 2 daughters and next door is an older Phillip Stoner. On the 1830 Franklin Township, the widow Sarah Stoner has 2 sons, 2 daughters and lives close to two John Wharton's and an old Polly Swope. Andrew Stoner could very possibly be the father of my Sarah R. Stoner and my 4th great grandfather. ----- Original Message ----- From: [email protected] Sent: Saturday, March 12, 2005 11:50 PM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [OHCLER] Andrew Stoner m Polly Whorton,Oct 5,1813 You mention a neighborhood where nw Franklin, and ne Washington, and s Tate townships corner. 3. Thanks, Hermon- There is a family tree out there that has an Andrew K. Stoner married to a Sarah Wharton (nickname Polly?). Sarah was born February 13, 1798 in Kentucky. Andrew and Sarah Stoner are found on 1820 census living in Sycamore Township, Hamilton County, Ohio, and there were 2 sons, 2 daughters in household. By 1830, Andrew Stoner is deceased and his widow Sarah Stoner is living in Franklin Township, Clermont County, Ohio. Sarah Stoner married 2nd John Henry Swope, son of Nicholas Swope and Anna Maria Hager, on December 12, 1834. John Henry Swope was married first to Margaret Shupe. He died May 31, 1861, Washington Township, Clermont County, Ohio. Sarah Wharton Stoner Swope died December 22, 1869, Washington Township, Clermont County, Ohio. This information comes from [email protected] There is no mention of the children born to Andrew K. Stoner and Sarah Wharton. One of their daughters could be my Sarah R. Stoner, my 3rd great grandmother who married Michael Altman. Does anyone know?
