    3. What a generous offer you have made to the list! My question regarding the biographies is very specific so I will not bother asking you to transcribe a full article unless it includes mention of the following connections.... Charles M. Smith born 1816 Montgomery Co. PA parents - Nathaniel Smith & Rachel Coates - her grandmother was a Huling. I see that you have already posted what was listed for Absolom Smith but if you would be kind enough to check the 3 following names for any connection to Charles & Nathaniel Smith and associated families (mentioned above) of Montgomery or Philadelphia Co. PA I would be most grateful. Dr. John C. Smith Dennis Smith Sr. William Huling Thank you for your kindness, Susan McIntyre John Charles Tippet wrote: > In several consecutive issues of the Clermont Courier (or Clermont Sun) > circa Jul 1885, appeared articles about Clermont County patriots who > served > in the Revolutionary War. 1. Clermont Patriots - Absalom Smith, Alexander Buchanan & Thomas Manning
    2. John Charles Tippet
    3. Absalom Smith owned a farm in Lytle's survey northeast of Williamsburg, near the Brown county line, and had served in the Pennsylvania troops. Alexander Buchanan emigrated to America in 1764, and settled in Washington county, Pennsylvania. He was an own cousin to the ex-President Buchanan, who located in Lancaster, the same State. In 1792 he emigrated to Mason county, Kentucky, in 1796 to the mouth of Bullskin in Franklin township, and in 1799 to Washington township, where he died in 1802, his wife following him in 1812. His son, William, was the first permanent settler in Washington township, having come over from Kentucky in the summer of 1795. Alexander's children wre William Alexander, jr, Robert, James, John, married to Margaret, daughter of Thomas Fee, and father of the present Representative, Andrew, the old coroner, and Jane, married to William Dixon, Martha, to Thomas Phillips, and a third girl to Mr Wilson. He served in all the New Jersey battles. Thomas Manning was a pensioner in Ohio township in 1840, and owned a place on the Green survey which he entered before 1815. 1. Re: Frazee & Derry
    2. Sarah Derry married John Frazee in 1826. One of my "brick walls" is trying to what Frazee family John Frazee belonged. There were several John Frazees in the area at that time. Sarah reportedly died in 1843. She and John had a son Sanford Frazee. Guardianship paper were filed for Sanford in 1845. Therefore, we would think John Frazee had also died by 1845. Then again, perhaps John had remarried and couldn't keep his son. Sanford Frazee was named in the 1862 will of his grandfather, John Derry. Another daughter of John Derry was Achsah Derry who married Henry Coltar - Margaret Burbage's line. John Derry lived in Clark Twp., Brown Co., near Hamersville, "on the waters of Clover Creek" and is is reportedly buried in the Warner Cemetery. I would greatly appreciate any suggestions about John Frazee's line! I've not found anything. -Judy In a message dated 6/19/2005 5:01:00 PM Central Daylight Time, [email protected]_ (mailto:[email protected]) on [email protected] writes: Wm Parker Taylor was married into Brown Co genealogist Margaret Burbage's Derry's,and into the Frazee-Shipman's [?].
