    3. We have been killing vegetation, looking for tombstone pieces, cleaning some tombstones, girtling trees, and trying to figure out how to proceed. We still need to take out trees, "remove" groundhogs and eventually do some earth moving. Volunteer reponse decides what can or would be done. We'd like to put each volunteer to a task that best suits them. I bring; (two people carry this stuff) water about 3 gallons in addition to drinking water plant cutters- hand size long handled cutter for more leverage 3 toe rake- safer than hoe Shovel, Gloves gallon of chemicals and some stump killer ax if taking out old stumps and or a small saw to saw off stumps brushes, tooth brush and plastic scrapper for tombstones Camera of course First Aid kit in the car "Caution tape" for stakes that have been placed, sometimes stakes Rubber mallot Bug repellant but there hasn't been much a problem to date. I try to be prepared but the list could go on.... Bring what you can carry for a job you can perform. We are close enough to civilization but the hike may keep some people away. Please call me at 513- 779-8740 for specific directions to the cemetery. We have been staying out from 8AM til 11AM since it is just the two of us working. Once the road goes in in July, it will be more possible to put up foundation forms for some of the large monuments and eventually pour concrete. We will hope to develop volunteers to repair tombstones. Not all volunteers will be suited to repairing tombstones. (I don't have the patience but my husband does) I wear long sleeved shirt, hat & long pants. I wear heavy boots if I expect mud because turning an ankle is a good possibility getting to the cemetery. Don't forget to take allergy medication, if needed. This is an old farm cemetery poison ivy is always possible. Hope this answers your question Caroline Huppi ----- Original Message ----- From: "Vivian KK Moon" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Tuesday, June 07, 2005 10:58 AM Subject: Re: [OHBUTLER-L] June 18, 2005 Woodmansee Cemetery > Caroline > What will you be doing at the cemetery next week? > What kind of tools do we need to bring? > Vivian > > > On Tue, 7 Jun 2005 09:16:59 -0400 "Caroline Huppi" <[email protected]> > writes: > > Hi All, > > > > > > > > Just a reminder about working to preserve the Woodmansee Cemetery. > > Publicity is one of my weakest areas.
