Hi list and Caroline, Thanks for leading me to the online listings of the cemeteries, as well as the corresponding entries in the Cyclopedia. There are many entries of interest to me, both as family and local connections. Many families from Butler County came to this area. I didn't find the Bakers and Bulls I was looking for, although the Bakers in Baker cemetery are part of another Baker family that came to Sheffield township, Tippecanoe County, Indiana, the area I am always working on. I don't know how or even if these two Baker families are relalted. The Clawsons in the listing don't look familiar, although the Cornelius Clawson in the Cyclopedia does sound familiar. But I think it is not known how or if he is connected to the Warren and Fountain Co Indiana Clawsons. I see that Elizabeth died in Lafayette, IN, which suggests a local link. David and Margaret (Warwick) Gregory, in Gregory cemetery, are both family and local connections. Their son, Hiram David Gregory, is one of the founders of the little town where I live, Dayton, Indiana. Thanks for your help, Susan _____________________________ X-Message: #4 Date: Wed, 8 Jun 2005 08:40:52 -0400 From: "Caroline Huppi" <[email protected]> To: [email protected] Message-ID: <[email protected]> Subject: Re: [OHBUTLER-L] RE: Clawson Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit There are a batch of Clawsons in Liberty Township, Butler County, OH. They are on the 1836 map as land owners and there is a Clawson Cemetery. Hazel Stroups Inventory of Clawson cemetery is online and I have photographs of the tombstones at www.rootsweb.com/~ohbutcem/ Libety Township then Clawson. I don't think I have made the addressing absolute for that page so if you are using netscape things might not work. I don't know anything about the family but given time perhaps maybe someone from Liberty Township will respond. Me, I just live here and the cemeteries I know about are just the small old cemeteries. If you are looking for dates more recent than 1880's I'm not going to be much help - sorry. caroline
