Lawrence, I don't have anything on John Lance, just his name, wife Sophia, and their two children, but then I haven't looked into the Lance's that much. I seem to remember finding some land records in Fairfield Co., OH for him, but it has been so long ago that I did Bruner/Lance research that the memory's a little foggy. He might have died in a smallpox epidemic, but that is only family rumour. Other researchers in the Bruner line say that Sophia had a lot of children and many of them died. Maybe of smallpox? Who knows. My main line is Bruner. Christian and Sophia were both married to previous spouses, so when they moved from Ohio to Tama, IA, it was a "his/hers and theirs" kind of thing. Henry Lance, Sophia and John's son, moved to Tama with the others, but didn't stay long. I think he moved back to Ohio, joined the Union soldiers for the Civil War and died in that. His sister, Minerva (b. 1830, OH, d. 1911 in Fairfield, OH), married David Hill in 1850 in Sandusky Co., OH. They had one child that I know of, Emma F., who married George Reedy. They had a son, Russell. George Reedy was the brother to Nancy Jane Reedy who married Solomon Bruner, the brother to my Salem Bruner. Both Solomon and Salem were sons of Christian and Sophia. George and Emma lived in Floyd county, TX at some point, which was next to Plainview, Hale Co., TX, where Solomon and Nancy (Reedy) Bruner lived. They later moved to MO and finally to CA. Their son, Russell, died in Calipatria, Imperial county, CA. One other thing, both Sophia and Christian were of the Dunkard faith.
