I'm looking for any information about the family of Wilkerson (or Wilkinson) Higgins, b. ca. 1814 in VA. He appears in the 1860 and 1870 census records with a wife, Sarah, and children Stanley W., b. ca. 1849, Zella M., b. ca. 1854, Ida, b. ca. 1856, and James C., b. ca 1865. In particular, I would be interested in his wife's maiden name (possibly Rand), or any record of her ancestry or their marriage. I suspect that his wife may be a niece of my gggf, whose Civil War diary contains the following entry on June 3, 1865: "Clear and warm all day. Went to Oxford. Remained at Hamilton three hours it is a beautiful town ten thousand inhabitants. Arrived at Oxford at 7PM. Stopped at Mr. Higgins who married my niece Sarah Rand". Wilson DeCamp Leesburg, VA
