    3. Rod, I think it is only helpful now if you know who, what and when you are looking for. It used to be that if someone on the list was searching for an ancestor I could type in the name and get a recap of all the records. I could then look down the list on the same page and see what records were available. If I wanted to see the Civil War pension record for that individual I would click on that, go to the next screen, click on the name and view the document. Now you have to go to the tab, type in the name, choose the category and scroll through page after page to find what you are looking for. If there are no records there then you have to move to another tab and try again. If you aren't sure what you are looking for it makes it worse. Most of the emails we get on the list are someone trying to find their ancestor who lived in the Butler County area or passed through at one time or another. Before if you typed the name Doe, you would get the recap, take a look at the recap and see immediately if there were any records for Butler County vs. Montgomery, Warren, etc. Sandi -----Original Message----- From: carpente@wcoil.com [mailto:carpente@wcoil.com] Sent: Friday, July 28, 2006 2:29 PM To: OHBUTLER-L@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [OHBUTLER-L] Ancestry.com changes Sandi, I have been a subscriber for a couple years and noticed the changes last night. But I really don't see the issue you describe. You can type in the name, birth year, death year and do a search then get your categories. Maybe I am misunderstanding you.
