I did end up going to Hamilton on Thursday. I got up at 330 am after a few hours sleep, woke up and left the house at 430ish or so. I live in Akron so about a 4 hour drive for me. On the outskirts of town there were some old farms that seemed to have been there for a very long time. Like stepping back in time. Then there were new condos and homes. Further on I came upon the city and it was a mixture of old and new. Some of the architecture was really amazing. What it must have been like 100 years ago. Anway, I went to the archives center and Linda Thompson was extremely helpful:) Before I knew it the day was flying by and I had more places to go. I went on to the courthouse and went on a self guided tour. That building is a must see. The woodwork was amazing. The historical coutroom was very neat. I then went on to St. Mary;s cemetery which was in good condition. The grass was mowed and it was generally kept up. Next, it was on to the lane library to do research there. By 930ish I had to leave for home. Family obligations forced me to go right back which was rough. Was home 130ish am or so and was exhausted to say the least. I was however very glad that I had went. I was able to find a lot but of course there were things I forgot or missed. I would have never gotten all that I did withought going myself since the archives center does not have the man power for all that for one person. I will definitely turn to them for small amounts here and there because they were so helpful. Things that I found, naturalization and declaration records, marriage records, death records, wills, probate records One of the probate records was HUGE. It was full of recepts from businesses in early 1900. The milk receipt was even in there. It is so neat to look at those old receipts and see what they bought and how much things cost etc. Anyone who has not searched for probate records needs to. I had no idea they could contain so many cool things. Not all have so much Linda said but any would be neat so to all junior searchers it is a great idea to go to try and obtain these. John F. Neilan's obit was really really neat. I know it is not your family but if anyone is interested in reading it, I will send it. Or maybe it could be put on the Butler site? Names that cross my line Neilan, Teague, Hill, Heath, Goldrick, Vaughn, Stuckey. Coakley, Norman, Loy and others
