    3. Could someone on the list with access to the 1850 and/or the 1860 census look up the following names??? Nicholas Gardner Mary Viellieber Gardner [a family member said Mary's maiden name might possibly be Freilieber and of course there could be a multitude of spelling variations of that] Mary is my great-great grandmother. Below is the info I have: Memoirs of the Miami Valley Volume lll "Of the resourceful agriculturists who have fashioned their careers within the boundaries of Hanover township, one who has made a success of his life and is accounted one of the substantial citizens of his part of Butler county, is John J. Gardner. Mr. Gardner is a native of Newport, Ky., born December 2, 1855, a son of Nicholas and Mary (Viellieber) Gardner, both of whom were born in Germany. Coming to the United States separately, before marriage, the parents met and were united in marriage in Newport, Ky., and after residing there several years came to Ohio and settled first near Hamilton. Later they resided near Darrtown, subsequently moving to Hanover township, and eventually settled permanently on the farm a part of which is occupied by their son." Thanks. Any info you can provide will be most appreciated.
