In the 1860 Census for Butler County Ohio is the family of Nicholas Hassan age 37 born in Germany, wife Mary Hassen, age 34 born in Germany, daughter Mary age 10 born in Ohio, son Michael age 7, son George age 5, daughter Louisa age 4, daughter Lana age 2. All children born in Ohio In the 1870 Census for Butler County is the family of Nicholas Hessen age 47 born in Germany, no wife listed, daughter Mary age 20, son Michael age 17, son George age 15, daughter Louisa age 13, daughter Lana age 11 and son Frank age 9. No wife is included, so she probably died by 1870 although I did check the death records and she is not listed (nothing unusual for the early death records.) Hope that this helps.
