    3. I haven't done much on my SKILES/SKYLES line recently from Morgan Twp area but since the list has been active I am going to jump in here. I have a will of my 4th great grandfather John Skiles dated 9 Jan 1827 that does not name a wife. They had 6 children Rachel Skiles m. William Draper in 1807 Rebecca Skiles m. James Kennedy 1806 Elley Skiles John Skiles Jr. b. 1796 m. Elizabeth ??? Isaac Skiles b. 1800 m. Jane George 1825 George Hill Skiles b. 1809 m. Catherine ??? 1826 In doing the math and making a giant estimate, Rebecca m. in 1806.... so let's say she was 18... that would put her birth about 1788. That would make her 8 years older than John Jr. So I'm estimating that John Sr. and this unknown wife married about 1786/87 area. IF this is generally correct and take about 20 years away from the marriage, John Sr. was born about 1767 making him about 60 when he died or at least when the will was written. Based on this information I'm looking for his wife's name. I believe they were married in PA specifically the Lancaster Co. area. But hoping she possibly passed away in Morgan Twp. I have no cemetery information - nothing. I did find on a link given out earlier that Rachel m. William Draper in Warrent Co. Rebecca m. James Kennedy in Butler Co., George, Isaac and John Jr. were listed on the federal census as in Butler Co. 1830/40 and most likely father John Sr. in 1820 listed on federal census in Butler which I pretty much knew by his Will. There is no female listed in 1820 so I'm thinking she had already died. Is there an 1810 census? Unfortunately most of those only list head of house hold. I'm just a little lost at this point of where to turn. Any suggestions appreciated. Janean

    3. I looked at the 1810 census. There is one John Skiles living in West Pennsboro, Cumberland County, PA. There are other family members but I can not tell the ages as ancestry chopped out the top of the pages during filming. Is this area near Lancaster County?
