    3. Mark, Thanks so much for the info. I went to your web site and found a lot of Stone/Flynn info I was missing. Stella Ditmeyer Gilbert was my 1stC 2xR. I descend from John Franklin Stone (aka/James Franklin) and Mary Christina Kess(ler) - she is listed as Mary Kess on son Barton Stone's death cert. His father is listed as John, and I have found him as both John and James in census records. Barton's death cert says John/James was b in MD, but census records variously give OH and IN., and the 1870 census says his parents were b in NC. I don't believe he was b in OH. Would you tell me how you derived at VA? Barton William Stone (b White Oak) and Catherine 'Katie' I Flynn were my great grandparents. They were married 4 Mar 1881 in Butler Co, and had 9 children, one of which was a stillborn male twin to my grandmother. Barton d 11 Oct 1925 and Katie d 3 Apr 1934. Katie's parents were John Flynn b 1818 Ireland and Sarah Hill b abt 1831 Ireland. We believe that Sarah was his 2nd wife, but have no proof. They lived in Rialto, which was where Katie was born. We have documented 5 children (+ descendants) for them. John d 12 May 1914, and Sarah then lived with her dau Margaret in Mt Airy until Sarah's death 22 Nov 1915. Margaret Flynn and Frank Kroger had 1 known son, Frank H Kroger, who went to Oregan and worked as an accountant for a lumber mill. I have birth, marriage, census, death and burial records for Stones and Flynns, as well as family and gravestone photos. I have too much informtion to include here, so if you would like to e-mail me off list, perhaps we could exchange more information. Thanks again, I have looked for years for some of the information I found in your wonderful site...Linda ----- Original Message ----- From: <gilburns@aol.com> To: <OHBUTLER-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, January 22, 2006 10:00 PM Subject: Re: [OHBUTLER-L] Re: request for local help to do some look ups > Hi Jerry. > > My name is Mark Gilbert and I am a Stone descendant. My Stones I have traced beginning in Colerain Twp (White Oak), Hamilton County in 1848. My line moved to Stockton, Fairfield Township, Butler County, Ohio from 1870 onward. Take a look at my online information and I will study what you sent sometime this week. The Stones will be under the 'S' surname. > > our southwest ohio families' genealogy is at > http://www.tribalpages.com/tribe/browse?userid=eimarkg > > > and rootsweb worldconnect database: > > http://wc.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?db=mgilbert > > > -----Original Message----- > From: Jerry Joe Sonner <intel4004@gmail.com> > To: OHBUTLER-L@rootsweb.com > Sent: Sun, 22 Jan 2006 16:29:42 -0600 > Subject: [OHBUTLER-L] Re: request for local help to do some look ups > > > I am in hope that someone local can help me with information on the STONE > family who lived in or near Hamliton, FarifieldTwp, Butler Co., Ohio > 1800-1870ish? > > > > Here is what I have on this family (I may have mistakes) If I can get help > on sorting out the correct detail on this group I will be in a position of > sharing the larger family picture in addition to many other family lines: > > > > > > > > > > > Descendant Story > > > > GENERATION NUMBER 1 > > > > 1.
