Elizabeth, There is no marriage in Butler County for John LaBoyteaux ( La Boyteaux, LaBoiteaux Labertaux etc) who married Elizabeth Montfort (Monford Montford) 6 Aug 1815. I checked under both names for the time that you list, and they are not there. Unfortunately, even if they did marry in Butler County, the marriage record does not list the name of the parents of bride and groom. Our records only give the name of the bride and groom, the date married and the name of the minister performing the marriage. Also, I do not have any wills or estates for the LaBoyteaux name. (any spelling) I also checked the 1820 Census and I do not find them in Butler County. Sorry I could not be of more help. Elizabeth, For what it may be worth there is a Catherine Layboyteaux married to a Jacob McGill, April 10, 1818 in Hamilton Co., OH and a Paul Layboyteaux married to a Betsy Ann Tetherland, July 18, 1818 in Hamilton Co., OH. Since both these marriages occurred across the county line three years after the date you are looking for it may be that the marriage your searching for actual took place in Hamilton Co., not Butler Co. Not all the Hamilton Co, records are complete some references are reconstructions of lost records. There are also three Monfort marriages not Monford occuring in Warren Co., next to Butler Co., in 1804, 1815 and 1816. So you have both family names but in the two adjacent counties. Maybe useful maybe not but just an idea. Good Luck Dick Martin Seeking help in finding the parents of James G. Martin born 6 Oct. 1810 Butler Co., OH His father was born in Scotland and his mother in PA. I believe he came with the Scot's from Washington Co., PA. Scottish naming pattern of his children would indicate his father's first name was William. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Linda Thompson" <Linda_72@fuse.net> To: <OHBUTLER-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, April 24, 2006 6:54 PM Subject: Re: [OHBUTLER-L] 1815 marriages > Elizabeth, > > There is no marriage in Butler County for John LaBoyteaux ( La Boyteaux, > LaBoiteaux Labertaux etc) who > married Elizabeth Montfort (Monford Montford) 6 Aug 1815.
