I am looking for information on two of my uncles, George Downey & Anderson Downey Jr. George was born 10 Dec. 1916 in Clay County Kentucky and died Aug. 1985 in Hamilton, Butler Co., Ohio. George moved to Butler County sometime around 1935. Anderson Downey Jr. was born 1 Sept. 1928 in Clay County Kentucky and died 10 Dec. 2003 in Middleton, Butler Co., Ohio. Anderson Jr. moved to Butler County sometime after WWII. Any information on these families would be greatly appreciated. Anderson Downey Jr. Anderson Downey, Jr., age 75, of Liberty Township, passed away at Mercy Hospital of Fairfield, on Wednesday, December 10, 2003, at 3:50 a.m. He was born in Clay County, Kentucky, on September 1, 1928, the son of Anderson Sr. and Elizabeth (Roberts) Downey. Anderson was a veteran of the Korean Conflict with the United States Army from 1951 to 1953. He was employed as a machinist at General Electric for 37 years, retiring in 1992. On June 14, 1963, in Hamilton, he married Joyce Spurlock. He is survived by his wife, Joyce Downey of Liberty Township; two sons, Steven and Michael Downey, both of Liberty Township; two daughters, Lisa Demaree and her husband Edward of Ross and Kim Glancy and her husband Frank Jr. of Trenton; two sisters, Mary Hickman of Versailles, Kentucky and Myrtle Shoupe of Manchester, Kentucky and five grandchildren, Corey, Kristen, Ryan, Gavin, and Gage. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, George Downey. Funeral service will be held at the Brown Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Saturday, December 13, 2003, at 11:00 a.m. with Dr. William Morris, Pastor of Covenant Christian Centre, officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.
