Caroline, I believe this is the correct location of the Shelby Palmer-Maud Palmer Garrett Ellington farm. Maud is the widowed daughter of Shelby who had married 2nd Lexton Ellington. The existence of two Section 9's have contributed to my confusion. Newspaper articles locate the scene of the fire as "1.5 mi. NE of Bethany...., farm is located on Hamilton-Lebanon pike 1/2 mi. from Bethany and about 3 mi. from Monroe..." I would like to obtain a copy of the 1930 map if you have it available. Thanks to Charles Heath for the excellent map and Tod Sutton for pointing out two Section 9's exist, and all who responded with suggestions. Is this a great mail list, or what!!!
