    1. Re: [OHBUTLER-L] Township maps of 1836
    2. Is anyone looking for a summer project??? It would be interesting to have a list of names from each of the three 1836 township maps with the section number included. For example, the first name in the upper left hand for Hanover township is George Layton in section 18, so an entry for him (and a few neighbors) could read: LAYTON, George - section 18 LINTNER, Samuel - section 17 SORTMAN, Daniel - section 18 WILSON, John - section 18 etc. Just a thought... If no one is interested, that's ok, too. Nancy http://www.rootsweb.com/~ohbutler/townships/

I may be thinking of a later year though. I don't exactly remember since I copied these maps about 2-3 years ago at the Smith Library in Oxford. -- Dennis M. 3. I believe these maps are available from the Butler County Historical or the Butler County Genealogy Society. I purchased the book a few years ago and it includes not only 1836 but later years also. It has a lot of info in it besides maps.
