    3. During the western expansion, early settlers from Virginia, North Carolina, and Tennessee settled much of the border counties of Eastern and Southeastern Kentucky, and many of these pioneers, or their descendants, moved on northward and took root in Butler County, Ohio and its adjacent counties. Wolfe County, Kentucky has proven to be a rich source of genealogical information for those in Butler County that are researching Eastern Kentucky genealogy. The Wolfe County Kentucky Woman's Club has produced a series of history books that focus on family genealogy. Volume's I and II of the series are currently sold out, but a small number of volume III, published in 2002, is still available. It is a beautifully illustrated, 537-page embossed hardback book containing 29 articles and nearly 15,000 names that provide valuable perspective for the researcher interested in the region's history and genealogy. You may view a photograph of the book and the Table of Contents by going to the KYWolfe RootsWeb site at: http://www.rootsweb.com/~kywolfe/hisbook2.htm For information on the book or its cost, contact: Thelma Carroll Rice, Editor, PO Box 339, Campton, KY 41301-0339 ; or e-mail billthel@mrtc.com for additional information. All proceeds from the book are used for community projects and to continue our work in County and regional genealogy.
