I am looking for any information on: Name: DILL, Nathaniel D. Born: 1861 Where: Butler County OH Parents: Rebecca Murford, mother Uriah Dill, father I am hoping the birth record (if there is one) will give more details on all three of the above ancestors. Appreciate any help anyone can give me. ~ Barbara Dill Noble in Indianapolis IN There are no birth records for 1861. Ohio did not start recording births until 1867. Here in Butler County we have some limited reports that were gathered for 1856/1857 by the tax assessors. Copies of the birth records through 19 December 1908 are available from the Butler County Records Center and Archives, 123 North Third St., Hamilton, OH 45011. You can also e-mail your request to: _bcarchives@butlercountyohio.org_ (mailto:bcarchives@butlercountyohio.org) Make sure you provide us with a return mailing address as we do not transmit records via e-mail. The cost is five cents per page, with the first five copies free. To this is added mailing costs. It should be noted that birth records from 20 December 1908 to the present day are available only from the Ohio Department of Health or the health department covering the area where the birth took place. They are VERY expensive. By state law, only certified copies can be provided and the average cost is around $15. Bob McMaken Volunteer Genealogist Butler County Records Center and Archives
