My dad was an illegitimate child and never had anything to do with his family. His dad was Ralph Schwab and his mom was Edith Austin. He left home when he was 11 or so and worked his way to Chicago. I never knew they existed until my Great aunt Bernice Schnieder gave me a little info on them. But Edith died in the 60's so I never got to meet her.
