The Mound was originally an Indian burial site.....in time becoming a burial site for white settlers. It is located just south of the downtown area of Monroe, the entrance being on the east side of Cincinnati-Dayton Road. It was the original cemetery for Monroe. A lot of the families that settled this area are buried there, and it is still being used as an active burial site. More info can be found at the Monroe Historical Society Museum, the Main Street Monroe website, and the Butler County, Ohio website. I never knew Nancy, but Marie Iutzi, from Hamilton, was a close friend of my sister and my mother. She used to visit us in Shandon quite a bit. I really don't have any more info on them. I can possibly check on the grave site at Mound. I live across the street from that cemetery. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Tim Robertson" <trobertson1@cinci.rr.com> To: <OHBUTLER-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Wednesday, November 09, 2005 9:40 PM Subject: Re: [OHBUTLER-L] Iutzi > Deb........which cemetery is the Mound Cemetery in Monroe?
