You have come to the right place..........It is a place called Shandon (or Paddy's Run or Glendower or New London, depending on the time in history over the last two centuries). Its central focus is the Congregational Church (also now known as the United Church of Christ), of which this place became the focal point for the people you have mentioned. As a cautionary measure, I will share with you that James Nicholas, Jr, moved his family to Gomer, Allen County, Ohio and helped settle that area in 1833. A large portion of these people that you have listed stayed around Paddy's Run and their blood still runs very strong in the people of that village. There is a book called "The Saga of Paddy's Run", by Steven Riggs Williams, that tells the story of this village and these people. It will be well worth the $10 or $12 that it will cost you for the information that it contains pertaining to these people and their families. Being that I grew up in this village, I am very familiar with the names that you seek. There are two main cemeteries that most of these now rest in....New London Cemetery and the old Shandon Cemetery (built at the time of the start of the village). I don't know where you live, but, if you are ever in a position to visit this little village, you would find it totally attractive, friendly, and ALIVE. John and Sally Evans' descendents are alive and kicking. There is a true sense of history and community...and people still actually care about each other. I am forwarding this message on to John Francis of Shandon, since he is probably the one that you will wish to request the book from, and he can possibly guide you in further assistance in your search. ----- Original Message ----- From: <Glenda19@aol.com> To: <OHBUTLER@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, January 16, 2007 1:54 PM Subject: [OHBUTLER] James NICHOLAS m Sarah MCKEE > > Does anyone have any info on the families listed below?
