    3. If he was naturalized in Butler County, the records will be in the Butler County Records Center and Archives, 123 North Third St., Hamilton, OH 45011. There will not be a separate record for the wife as she automatically became a citizen when her husband was naturalized. If the son was a minor, he also became a citizen without further ado. If not, he possibly became a citizen as the result of his service in the Civil War. However, he would have had to file a separate request in order to do so. Send your request to: bcarchives@butlercountyohio.org In the request, include your full name and mailing address as all records are sent via USPS only. I'm specifically looking for German immigrants Andreas (Andrew) Koch, wife Maria (Mary), and a son also Andreas (Andrew). The last name eventually became Cook. Andrew, the son, served in the Union Army in the Civil War and settled in Lewis Co., Ky, but I believe the Koch family may be the Andrew and Mary Cook living in Hanover Township of Butler Co., OH in 1850. The ages and names are a match for my family. > > Working backwards from documents in Lewis Co., KY, I know that Andrew Cook (Koch) was in the 193rd OH Infantry in the Civil War, and from his pension application I know that he worked as a machinist apprentice in Cincinnati, OH in 1854. He was b. in 1835 in Hamburg, Germany. Date of birth documented in several places, birthplace documented from census records. > > Am I on the right track with the Butler Co. family? Does anyone know where to locate naturalization records for Butler Co.? I have check in Lewis Co. Ky for naturalization records, and none were found. Thank you. Janet Estep >
