You're welcome, Caroline. Thank you linda for informing us all about This find a grave link. I found it quite annoying that people are posting images from the Middletown Cemetery website, in particular, as there own without even giving credit to the photographer. People need to post their own photograph- not picture from other sites. Any more info on James H. Harmon would be appreciated. Rita Harmon Elkins http://www.middle-america.org/crout/Madison/woodsdle.html 1913: "Woodsdale was hard hit by the flood, which covered the intersection of Augspurger and Wayne-Madison Roads. A new iron bridge across the Great Miami collapsed. It and roads around Woodsdale had to be rebuilt. The flood swept into the side of the old Samuel Augspurger house, then the home of the James Harmon family, gutting the right end. Several paper mill worker's homes were washed away, as were many others."
I would like to say thanks to everyone who helped me. I am now in touch with Mr Davies Alan Jones
It has always been Augspurger since they have been in Madison Twp. Christian & Samuel Augspurger of Woodsdale (once called Augspurger) and Harry & Wilda Augspurger of Miltonville. I personally knew Wilda and his wife. It is Augspurger Rd. from Woodsdale all the way to New Miami. It is Augspurger on their gravestones, in all of the local books, and documents. I have heard people use the "b" sound in the name, but believe it to just be a mispronunciation. Take care, J. Larry Helton, Jr.
Hi, According to the Butler Co., online map by the County Engineer's office, Larry's spelling is correct for the road. Hi, I do have a copied page of the Butler county Ohio Land records Volume 2:1816-1823 index that is written by Shirley Keller Mikesell. This is just and index. Where is the actual document at that came be looked at. What I want to look at is on page 456. Also I have the Index of the Ohio 1825 Tax Duplicate Index by Gerald M. Petty. Many libraries have the DCs from 1908-1953 (Stark Co. for example). But the OHS has only indexed 1913-1944. My guess is that this is a question of available resources. And I believe 1945-1953 was just recently released to libraries and the OHS.
