    3. I have found some great information on the Butler County Ohio Treasury website today that I would like to share with the list. If you have the address of your ancestor from a document or a census and they lived in Butler County, you can go to this site and look up information regarding the property. It will tell you when the home was built, how big the lot is, the square footage, and the best part is when you click on maps/gis on the left hand side. This brings up the next page, after the viewer loads, scroll down to parcel ID and click. You will not only get a sketch of the floor plan but an actual photograph of the home as it appears today. Many of the homes have never changed in appearance on the outside so it really gives you some idea about how your ancestors lived. It is also nice to have a picture for your records. I hope this is helpful. The website is listed below. Sandi Deaton-Kneer Orlando, Florida www.butlercountyohio.org/treasurer/index.cfm?page=realestate

    3. Hi, This obituary for Frank P Garrett was on the OHBUTLER list a couple years ago. If I remember correctly, when the library was doing some remodeling, they found a shoe in a wall with Frank's name on it. So, he left his shoe in Muncie, In. Norma From: "unicorn1945" <[email protected]> To: [email protected] Message-ID: <[email protected]> Subject: [OHBUTLER-L] search I live in Muncie, IN. Our local library has made a small discovery that has made Hamilton's Frank P. Garrett a very interesting man in our town. I'm preparing to do a web page on him but need someone to do some look-ups for me. Are there any volunteers who would be willing to help me out? Please see the obit below. Thank you, Shirley Pearson FRANK P. GARRETT IS DEAD Demise of Well Known Contracter and Member of Elks After an illness extending over a period of six weeks, Frank P. Garrett, 56, a well known contracter and a prominent member of Muncie lodge of the Elks, died last night at 10:15 o'clock at the home of Mrs. Lena Richey, 2? east Gilbert street. The death of Mr. Garrett had been expected for the past few days, as it was known that he was dangerously suffering with Bright's Disease. Mr. Garrett was one of the oldest members of Muncie lodge of Elks, and was highly respected by all who knew him. Following death, the remains of the deceased were taken to the Meeks morgue, where they will be prepared for burial. The funeral which will be in charge of the Muncie Elks, will be announced later. The body will be taken to Hamilton, O. for burial. 2. I need to apologize to several people who have requested lookups that I have not yet responded to, but I wanted to explain. I am in the process of transcribing the entire book and am working with Nancy to post the entire book on her website where the index to the book is currently posted. We will be letting people know the link when it is up and running, even as the individual sections are posted. The first 150 pages are done and are in the process of being coded for posting, so you should be able to read the entire text in the near future. I am asking your forebearance in allowing me to focus my time on the entire transcription rather than spending several hours doing the indivdual lookups and transcriptions. Looking forward to getting this entire thing posted, Gary King Batavia IL
