Looking for information on any families that came from south carolina in about 1808-1809 and then ended up in Butler County. My family came from there in that time frame and I was looking to see if maybe they came with other families, Help Beth Little Carr __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Hi all, Once again we are back at the cemetery. Aug 6 and Aug 20th 8AM til 12PM. The Road is back toward the cemetery is in. At 747 and Kyles Station head east to Woodmansee Way, Right/ South on Woodmansee Way to Daniel Crossing right to Sugar Maple Run follow it around to what will become Rachel's Way. Park where you desire and head to the knoll. Both Rachel's Way and Sugar Maple Run are not completed. Please call if you need more directions. 513-779-8740 http://www.bceo.org/onlinemap/ the engineers office map may help you. Liberty Twp, Section 3 is where the cemetery is located. The cemetery is not identified on the Butler County map map. We are continuing to remove vegetation. The top of the Cemetery is pretty cleared out and we will continue to expand the perimeter. Tree stumps about 6" in diameter are tripping hazards and are being removed. We are continuing to look for pieces of tombstones. As always bring water, hand tools, dress for poison ivy, and common sense. Shovels and large limb cutters are always helpful. We have tried to kill the poison ivy but it continues to show up. Those interested in helping who have generators or high speed drills will be especially helpful in the coming months. Thanks again for passing on this information to those who want to help out. THANK YOU!!!! We had not thought of looking in southern KY for her. Figured she packed up those kids and went North!!! Found out her daughter Lulu md. a Barton in Bell County. and died in 1954 in Bell county. Finally we are finding something on this family, but it has been a drag. We were told that Richard was laying across his bed sleeping and someone came by the open window, shot through the window and killed him. We don't really know whey nor just when, but sometime between 1906 and 1910. Now we are wondering just where he met this Gully. I don't remember seeing that name before. > [Original Message] > From: Norma Adams <njadams@cinci.rr.com> > To: <OHBUTLER-L@rootsweb.com> > Date: 7/25/05 10:04:43 AM > Subject: RE: [OHBUTLER-L] RE: Isabelle Short > > Wilma!!! > We couldn't find Isabelle Short because she was no longer Isabelle > Short! Guess I just have to look somewhere else. Thank you so much. Since we think her husband, Richard died before 1910, and she and her family cannot be found in KY, we thought she may have moved to Ohio for work. > [Original Message] > From: Monty Reed <montyreed@comcast.net> > To: <OHBUTLER-L@rootsweb.com> > Date: 7/24/05 6:27:12 PM > Subject: Re: [OHBUTLER-L] 1910 Census > > Couldn't find Isabelle Short in Butler or Hamilton County in 1910. Thank you so much for your reply! We think that Isabelle's husband, Richard Short, was deceased by 1910. Their children are Alice, b. Feb. 1890 William, b. Jan 1891 Charley, b. Dec. 1892 Lulu Short, b. May 1894 McKinley Short, b. Aug. 1896 Emma short, b. Aug. 1899 Thomas D. Short, b. Dec. 1901 So, is Charley the husband or a son?? Isabelle is listed as 30 years of age in 1900. > [Original Message] > From: <kgiuliano@verizon.net> > To: <OHBUTLER-L@rootsweb.com> > Date: 7/24/05 7:42:42 PM > Subject: [OHBUTLER-L] RE: Isabelle Short > > Wilma - tried to email you bounced back. > > What is Isabelle's husband's name. There were Schwabs that were farming in Ross Township, between Millville and Shandon, Butler County, when I was growing up...a son and a daughter went thru school with me. The daughter married a classmate sometime after we graduated. I saw them at several class reunions over the years, until he died. I didn't know the Schwabs from Fairfield, but, yes, Fairfield is in Butler County.........abuts the city of Hamilton and runs south to I-275. It may just be that these specific family names are not active in genealogy on the NET. A lot of people are more apprehensive due to identity theft now than in the past. ----- Original Message ----- From: <Schwabgen@aol.com> To: <OHBUTLER-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, July 24, 2005 5:28 AM Subject: [OHBUTLER-L] Schwab, Austin, Schulte, Doellman, Roll Call > There never seems to be many of these names in the Surname search of > Butler > co. > Especially the Schwab, which was in it's day supposedly a prominent name > in > those parts. There never seems to be many of these names in the Surname search of Butler co. Especially the Schwab, which was in it's day supposedly a prominent name in those parts. Does anyone know where "Zion Church Cemetery" was located? In the George Crout collection at the Middletown, Ohio, Public Library is a "Certificate of Ownership, Zion Church Cemetery" for Lot Number 23 Range 1 on the Plat of Cemetery Grounds in the County of Butler and State of Ohio...It was issued to Garret Williamson on June 12, 1875. Garret Williamson died April 23, 1891, and is buried in Elk Creek Cemetery. I am aware of a couple of Zion cemeteries in Butler Co. - Oxford Township and Hamilton, but would like to know where this one was.

James, It's true that there are links to ancestry's censuses on www.censusfinder.com but there really are free census links there. I have personally found many free census reports there. Avoid the pay sites like ancestry and choose the rest and you have access to free census reports.
