Thank you all so much for the helpful info. When I make it to Butler Co. this summer, I'll know where to look and which school's year books to look for. Gale
A resident of Reily Township would have gone to Reily High School, in Reily, Ohio, Butler County........if they were closer to Oxford, they would have gone to Stewart, since Talawanda didn't exist until I was in school, in the 50's. Talawanda was made up of more than one school district, supposedly to save money and give the kids a better education, but there was a lot of resentment from some of the constituents for taking their local school (Morgan High School, at Okeana, Ohio) away from them. Depending on where they lived, they either went to Ross or Talawanda. Reily and Morgan both ended up as lower-grade schools. Smith Library, at Oxford, will have all of the information that you need. I had cousins in both schools, and my Mom and Dad both attended Morgan, until they moved to Shandon...In fact, Mom graduated from Morgan, I think in 1926. Funny thing, when I was a kid, one of my friends and neighbors in Shandon, was Johnny Wallen, and I believe his father's name was Edward. He had one sister. His Mom used to tell me they were mostly Cherokee, and they looked the part........dark-skinned, dark hair, high cheek-bones, lanky, yet very good-looking people........Johnny would be about 60 now...Ring a bell??? The high school in Oxford in 1930 was the Stewart I think. That building was the old high school before Talawanda High was built. Stewart was then used for junior high for years and finally torn down a couple of years ago. Dear List Members, Thanks to all who have tried to help me find Gail Childress. The search is off as Gail, herself, saw my posting and I now have an updated e-mail address for her, so all is well. Just wanted to let everyone know so that efforts can be directed elsewhere. Bette
Janean Ray: Thanks for the old yearbooks link. Found an aunt. But now can you tell me how to submit info to that site. I looked it over pretty good, but can't seem to see how to do that or a link for it. Thanks. At that time he moved in with Tillie and her husband Wm. Saurer Albert's marriage record shows his parents as: Fred and Anna Emmert Keller. However, my aunt Alberta called me from Muncie In. to let me know that they were NOT his parents but his aunt and uncle and that they raised him. She refused to give me any details and ended the conversation with "let sleeping dogs lie". Fred's obituary was in the Hamilton newspaper and it said that he leaves two children, Tillie Saurer and Albert Keller. His obituary was also in the Connersville paper and it says he left a foster son, Albert Keller whom he raised. In the 1880 census of Fayette Co. In. it shows Fred and Anna Keller with four children but no Albert.who would have been 4 years old. He was not living with them at that time. I can find no 4 year Albert Keller in Fayette Co. Ind. In 1880. Albert had always said ..according to my mother.that Albert said he was not related to the other Keller's who lived in town. (But he was living with Fred' s daughter Tillie and Fred was John Keller's brother) My Uncle John said he thinks he remembers someone saying Albert's parents owned a saloon and he " ran away from home" and someone I am e-mailing with who is also researching the Keller's said he heard one of the Keller brother's had to 'get out of town ' because of a woman. There is no record of Albert's birth in Connersville, (was told records didn' t go back that far). I am really interested in finding out more about William Keller and wondering if he could be Albert's father but I can not find where he went after becoming a citizen. I am also wondering if there are some female Keller's (sisters to Franz, Ernest, and Fred ...and perhaps William) that immigrated over from Germany that I am missing and that she could be Albert's mother. If Fred and Anna took Albert in at a very young age, (after he was 4 though) he could have just taken on the Keller name, perhaps when he started school, and had originally had his mothers married name. ==== OHBUTLER Mailing List ==== A History and Biographical Cyclopaedia of Butler County Ohio ~ http://www.rootsweb.com/~ohbutler/cyc/index.html

McClellan Cemetery -located on wooded lot between Breiel Blvd. & East St.,next to Chatham Village, 4389 Bonita Dr., Middletown, behind apartment 1700. -next to the woods at 1509 East St. the house is in the name of Evelyn Breytspraak, no response when contacted through mail,I have not found who owns the wooded lot. -two graves found on southeast corner - partial upright stones: Aged 76 years, 1 (or) 7 mo., 2 (or) 20 ds., A native of Newjersey (all one word); (?), 11m, A native of New. -other foundations, stones, fieldstones - can't tell, too much trash and dumping of stone and cement, no other low areas resembling graves. -an article in 1990 stated a possible grave on the west side, but that is doubtful, most probable that all the graves would have been in the same area. -Roger Miller told me he had found a possible stone foundation upon entering the woods, but that area is now covered with dumped brush. -A lot of trash, a lot of partying, a hangout for kids, and still alot of wildlife in there; I found deer antler rubbings on some of the cedar trees and deer tracks. -last McClellan in that area around 1920; no known descendants; property had been McClellan farmland. -Edgar Long, 80 in 1990, former owner of land, had one of 2 known gravestones; residents of Edith Grimm property, in 1990, had the other stone; I am guessing these would be to the tops of the ones there now. -Across the street at Patrick Square, was another cemetery, now gone. Larry Helton Madison Twp.
I believe the book covers the years 1900 - 2000 -- I'll be able to tell you more once I receive the copy I ordered.
