    3. Elizabeth, For what it may be worth there is a Catherine Layboyteaux married to a Jacob McGill, April 10, 1818 in Hamilton Co., OH and a Paul Layboyteaux married to a Betsy Ann Tetherland, July 18, 1818 in Hamilton Co., OH. Since both these marriages occurred across the county line three years after the date you are looking for it may be that the marriage your searching for actual took place in Hamilton Co., not Butler Co. Not all the Hamilton Co, records are complete some references are reconstructions of lost records. There are also three Monfort marriages not Monford occuring in Warren Co., next to Butler Co., in 1804, 1815 and 1816. So you have both family names but in the two adjacent counties. Maybe useful maybe not but just an idea. Good Luck Dick Martin Seeking help in finding the parents of James G. Martin born 6 Oct. 1810 Butler Co., OH His father was born in Scotland and his mother in PA. I believe he came with the Scot's from Washington Co., PA. Who knows which is right. Also, doing a search of the Butler County OHGenWeb site brought up perhaps a different spelling of the name: "DAVIS (Joshua + Jennie LABERTUEAX) buried in New Burlington, in 1839." on the page: _http://www.rootsweb.com/~ohbutler/sur-a998.htm_ (http://www.rootsweb.com/~ohbutler/sur-a998.htm) In a message dated 4/24/2006 4:13:00 PM Central Daylight Time, gilburns@aol.com writes: Peter Labertaux who married Phebe Davis 26 Nov 1817 in Butler Co.

Butler county did not exist until statehood in 1803 and butler county was carved out of hamilton county at that time. colerain township in hamilton county borders bulter county. if you would like to contact me off list, i would like to work together - i would like to know the reformed dutch church you referenced. i quickly looked for your marraige inquiry and did not locate it, but in searching the colerain township 1820 Federal Census i did find... 1. Nursing home records
    2. Carolyn Lacey
    3. Hello Cindy, I worked in a nursing home for many years. I have seen many residents charts. Most of the information is going to pertain to the residents medical history and behaviour. There would probably be some information about the institutions she had been in. Probably the person responsible. In her case this would probably have been somebody appointed by the state or a lawyer if she had been in an institution all her life. There might be a page with her likes and dislikes. There would probably be a page with info about where she was born and when and who her parents were. It might tell when they died. It might tell what institutions she was in. I doubt if there would be any info on her siblings unless they were responsible for her care. The other thing that I know from the Nursing home I worked in---when someone dies the info is removed from the chart and is moved to another location. My guess is to some filing cabinet or box of old records in some out of the way storage room. This could be the reason no one seems eager to help. Good luck in your search. 1. Tommy Neilan
    2. Diane Beaty
    3. I apologize in advance -- I know someone on the list is researching the Neilan surname, but I can't remember who. Anyway, I found the following Neilan reference in "Rosemary", by Stella Weiler Taylor [Rosemary is a 2 volume set of articles previously published in the Hamilton Journal-News and republished in book form in 1940]: pages 473-74 The other summer tragedy came a year or two later, on a July afternoon, when the Hon. John F. Neilan, Sr's little son, Tommy, aged 5, was fatally kicked by a horse while at play with other children in a Ross avenue neighbor's barn. There is an account of the accident in one of my childhood's scrapbooks. (I think it was written by Thomas Moore). The clipping says: He was at once conveyed to his father's home and Dr. Scobey was summoned. The boys accompanying Tommy are so young they can give no succinct account of the affair. 2. Hi Bob Ok, My great grandfather was Francis Marion EDDY...death cert says he was 61 years old in 1906 when he died. He was married to Missouri Ann ASH EDDY at the time of his death. I have no idea when or where they married or why they ended up in Cincinnati but he shows up for the first time in the Williams City Directory in 1891 and stays in it until he dies in 1906 when his widow Annie Eddy is listed for that year. Missouri didn't use her given name she went by Annie Eddy. She was born in Doddridge County, WV in 1867 to Abraham Ash and Elizabeth Kyle. Francis Marison died of TB in the City Hospital of Cincinnati. Annie must not have been around or was not allowed to be around as the hospital fills out his death record and he is buried in the Wesleyan Cemetery in an unmarked grave as FRANK EDDIE. The death cert says he was 61 years old and born in Ohio. His Last child was born 4 months after he died. He was a shoemaker, upholsterer and bag maker in the directories. His first child Henry was born in 1893 and died 7 months later My grandmother Eleanor aka Ruth Arabella Eddy was born Feb 1895 Mary Elizabeth was born Dec 1897 Grace Cramer was Dec 1899 William C. aka Isaac was born 1902 Frances Marian aka Alena F. was born May 1906 All children were born in Cincinnati. After Francis Marion died in 1906 Annie Ash put them in orphanages. My grandmother, Ruth, was more unruly than the others kept running away so she was put in the House of Refuge and taken out in 1911 by Minnie C. Stowe of Cincinnati to work in her house for food and schooling. She also lived as a servant at 15 for the head of Juvenile. They were all in the CINCINNATI CHILDRENS HOME for a time and that is where I got most of my information as to where they went and what their names were at the time. Grace Cramer Eddy was given to a family in Van Wert Ohio, the Emerlings she was placed there by H.D. Clarke of the Orphan Train head. Mary Elizabeth stayed in Bethany Home until she was sent for by her married sister, my grandmother in 1917. Isaac was placed by H.D. Clarke orphan train in the S.O. Davis family in West Virginia, Harrison or Lewis County can't remember which. Frances Marian aka Alena F. Eddy I don't know where she was for the most part of her life but she was placed in the Orient in Columbus in 1926, she would have been 20 years old at the time. I have no idea where she was from her birth until that time as my grandmother or my mother did not know she existed. My grandmother died not knowing about her or where Isaac was. My grandmother did find her sisters Grace and Mary Elizabeth and they did have a relationship as did they have with their mother Annie Ash Eddy. My grandmother lived for a time with Annie who later married an alcoholic James Andrews in 1912 and he died in 1913. Later she married Benjamin Morris, her last husband. She died in 1937. On the Cincinnati Childrens Home records under my grandmother's information it stated that paternal relatives were John and Charles with Bellaire Ohio written under their names. I searched census records for a family with John and Charles in the family and found Isaac Eddy b. 1822 and Amanda Johnson Eddy born 1822 in Harrison County, OH...they did have a son Francis also and he was born in 1852 or 1853 can't remember off hand. I am trying to make a better connection to this family and I know that the records for Alena will help because I have run out every other resouce I can think of. I have been working on this for 15 years. So, that is a pretty good summary of what I am up against. 3. Cindy, Could you just give us a recap of what you know thus far? Please keep it simple. (The emails are to lengthy for me to keep up with) We all might be able to assist you in finding out about the family by taking a fresh look at what you have and by researching the other family members. Please list your Grandfathers name, any dates you have, married to, children, living where, occupation, anything else you can think of. Happy to help. Sandi

    3. They have 61 on the death certificate but I have a VERY strong feeling that is wrong and would be more like 54 years old. I base this on some things I have been working on and the age of his children and the age of my great grandmother and some other things. -----Original Message----- From: Dennis Kowallek [mailto:kowallek@iglou.com] Sent: Friday, April 21, 2006 3:24 PM To: OHBUTLER-L@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [OHBUTLER-L] Help with Nursing Home Question On Fri, 21 Apr 2006 15:11:01 -0400, "Cindy Crawford" <clcrawford@fuse.net> wrote: >His death cert says born in Ohio >but they couldn't even get his name spelled right so how can I know birth >state is right?
