The majority of our records are indexed first by year and then alpha within the year. Judy my 2nd-great-grandparents were Eliphalet P (E.P.) & Harriet (Gill) Cole. From Auglazie and Allen Countries. E.P.'s parents were John Fullwood Cole and Nancy Ann Watson. John was born in New Jersey and Nancy in Virginia. As far as I know E.P. was born inAllen County. This is what I know so far. Still working rest of the family and I not sure if these names ring any bells for you but it might help. John and Nancy and E.P> are buried in Woodlawn Cemetery in Lima in the Cole family plot. My 3rd great-grandmother, Alvira or Elvira Cole, married Simon Timberman or Timmerman. I don't know when or where they married, but their first (surviving?) child was born in 1836. They lived in Ross County in 1840 but were in Indiana by 1845. I have all the information I want and need on the Timbermans, but I haven't been able to find anything about Elvira. She died in Indiana in 1903, but the names of her parents are not on the death certificate. She was b October 3, 1817, probably in Ohio but possibly in Kentucky. (I've seen both places given). I suspect that her parents were William and Margaret Cole, but I'm taking a long shot on that. I'd really appreciate any help I can get. I do lookups for RAOGK and also for Vigo County and the surrounding Indiana counties. Thanks in advance. This is one of my oldest brick walls. Judy in Indiana
I believe that it is Colerain Township. It is in the Ross Township platte map, and looks as if it's across the border. I had looked for the surname of Colerain in Butler Co but didn't think about Hamilton County. The words are separated on the map--I didn't think they made much sense. Thank you. Seeking parents of Mary Anna Kaufman b.1839 d.1902 married 10 Dec 1861 at Butler Co. OH to John Benzing. She may be the daughter of John/Modise/Woodeso Coffman/Kaufman b.abt.1815 & Margaret/Margaretha ______ d.1866 of Butler Co. OH but need more proof. They (& Mary Anna) seem to be listed on the 1860 census in Hamilton, Butler Co. OH. Charles R. Heath HeathCR2@netscape.net

Thank you so much, Dennis. This is such a handy tool for family historians and other researchers to use. May I copy info onto my family site from a search of your site? If so, what kind of credit to you should I use? Or do you prefer not to have it copied? Here's my example: _http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~vlwest/george/1836-land.html_ (http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~vlwest/george/1836-land.html) so I could add comments as suggested in your original search form. But it would be no problem to remove this file for your copyright. Thanks again, and Merry Christmas. Nancy
