I am a direct 3rd cousin to the Keith Ellis you mentioned. He does have a lot of information on the Ellis's, but at the same time, he has a big feed store in Sardinia, ( just a country town, perhaps 850 people), and is very busy. If I could be of any help to you, please let me know, as I knew a lot of the old Ellis family, and do do some genealogy for people.
