If, in the 1850s, a Catholic girl would have been unwanted in her father's new marriage and he sought to "indenture" her to a family so that she would be "out of the way," might this have been done via an orphanage or the Catholic Church? How were such arrangements made? Brown County Probate Court had no guardianship records. I didn't find any in Clermont County Court, either. Her last known address with her father was in Campbell County KY and they had no record either. Her father's church in Clermont was St. Philomena; in Newport, it was either Corpus Christi or St. Stephen. What was the name of the Catholic Church at Arnheim in Brown County? Thanks, Buffy
