Hello, I joined the list to see if somebody can tell me if 1850-60 birth/death records exist for Brown County. When I was visiting there a year ago, I did some research at the Genealogy Society in the old jail, and I have a handwritten note that says one of the ladies told me the records do not exist. I don't have a reason written down. So, does anybody know if they in fact DO exist, and I can write to the Probate Court or whoever for a copy of a birth certificate for 1863? Or do they NOT exist and I can't get my copy? Thanks much, Carol in Ocala, FL
