Saw your question about Frank Purdy. He used to live right beside me in Sardinia. He was a fairly old man then, and was killed in a car wreck, on Rt 134, above Buford, Ohio, sometime in the 1940's. I know a lot of Purdys, and I saw where you mentioned one of them lived out on 5-Points, Mowrystown Rd. just East of Sardinia, Brown Co. Ohio. Vaughn Purdy lives there now, received the farm from his father & mother when they died. Vaugh was one grade ahead of me in school. Married a very hateful woman from Decatur, Ohio Talks to him like he didn't know a damn thing. He is a very nice conginual person, very friendly and a hard working farmer. If you are interested, I will give you his address and phone #, and you might be able to get somemore information from him. Don't bother talking to his wife, she is the one that they invented the broom for, so she would have something to ride. ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Monday, June 23, 2003 11:54 AM Subject: [OhBrown] Re: Henry Purdy > This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. > > Surnames: PURDY, CLUTTER, GOODEN, COOK > Classification: Query > > Message Board URL: > > http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/xVB.2ACE/634.1.1.1 > > Message Board Post: > > The Henry M. Purdy I have was born 25 March 1852, and died 19 August 1925 in Brown County. His first wife was Nancy Clutter who died before 1900 and, in ca. 1903, he married Louisa ?. I do not have any more information on her. > > I have Henry's death certificate and his son Charles E. Purdy's marriage and death certificates. His son was married to my grandmother's sister Molly Gooden in Mercer County, Illinois, but when she died as a young woman he went back to Brown County where he married again, but later divorced. He died there 21 September 1920. Frank O. Purdy gave the information for both Charles E. and Henry M.'s death certificates. Do you know who he is? > > Henry's parents, according to his death certificate, were Thomas Purdy, b. OH, and Lucinda Cook, also b. OH. I don't have a lot on the family but I happened to see your query on Henry and I'll be happy to give you copies of what I do have. > > > ==== OHBROWN Mailing List ==== > For helpful "how to" information about this list, please click on: http://lists.rootsweb.com/index/usa/ohio/brown.html >
