I am still trying to piece together the indenture of my great-grandmother, Catherine Berst. I found her in the 1850 census of Campbell County KY with her single father, Jacob Berst. She was 3, he, 33. I found estate papers for Jacob, who died in 1857, in Clermont County. By the time of his death, Jacob had remarried and had two new children (Francis Jacob and Mary Magdaleina) by his second wife, Magdaleina Adeloff. His wedding to Ms. Adeloff and the baptism of his children are recorded in St. Philomena Church. In the estate papers, the administrator is searching for the "minor daughter of Jacob Berst, Mary Catherine Berst." She is not located. I found her in the 1860 census in Arnheim, Brown County, enumerated with non-related persons (The Ludwig/Louis Braun/Brown family.) I can't imagine how she got there! No doubt the second wife didn't want her, so her father placed her. But how was this done? No records exist at Brown COunty. No records seem to exist at Clermont County or Campbell County either..... By all indications, Catherine and her father seem to have been Catholic. Yet Catherine was placed with a Lutheran family. The local Lutheran records show them as members and I guess that despite being Catholic (if she was) became a baptismal sponsor to a child at this Lutheran Church. Thanks for any insights! Buffy

Thomas and Catherine Tally McKitrick and three children, Mary, Frank and Edward emigrated from Ireland to Boston MA in 1812. From Boston they moved to Lancaster Co. PA where children Peter, Daniel, Thomas, Joseph, Catherine and David were born between 1816 and 1830. After the birth of David in 1830 the family secured a Land Grant in Fayetteville, Ohio. Thomas died between 1830 and 1850. Catherine Tally McKitrick died 16 February 1851. All of the children are believed to have married in Fayetteville except for Mary who married Thomas P Connelly in Washington Boro, Lancaster Co., PA on 5 September 1830, and Catherine who married James F Hayden in East Baton Rouge, LA on 17 July 1854. Thomas and Mary Connelly are believed to have settled in Hamilton Co. Ohio after their marriage. Peter, Joseph, Catherine and David settled in East Baton Rouge LA. I would appreciate any suggestions or data concerning this lost branch of the family.

The Wallace parents are Thomas Wallace, b abt 1770 in Ireland, death date unknown but prob in Brown Co. bef. 1850 and Catherine 1772-1860, she being born in PA. They came to Mason Co., KY in about 1790 and resided there until about 1815 when they moved to Brown Co. Their identified children: John Wallace abt 1796- 1875; Mary Wallace 1801-1883; Thomas Wallace1802-1866; William Wallace 1805-1882; and Edward Wallace 1809-1885. The early census records would seem to indicate there are other children, but they have not been identified. As noted William and Edward married Redmons. Mary and Thomas married Stephensons. Catherine can be found for the 1850 census in the household of her son-in-law, Robert Stephenson. I don't know about John. On the Redmon side the parents are John Redmon 1777-1837 and Mildred Rollison 1772-1858. They had numerous children that are listed on various web sites. If you have trouble finding that information I can help you out, but I won't take the space here. This should get you started, at least. Let me know if you would like further information.

(Brother of my GGrandfather D. Carr Early). Lewis then married and had a son George born about 1853. I dont know Georges middle name, but it surely could have been Andrew, after his grandfather. Possibly your D. Carr is from that line. Can you go backwards? Yes, I do know for sure that my GGrandfather was D. Carr Early. He lived his adult life in Sac County, Iowa and he founded the town of Early, Iowa. Also was a founder of the town of Sac City. His home is still a prominant landmark there. He is well documented there. I grew up in the home of his daughter, my Grandmother. I find that his GGrandmother was Euphemia Carr, married to Thomas Early in 1764. That is where the "Carr" comes I think. Does this fit in with the rest of your information? I know the names of the Early's back in my line, but I now need to get documentation myself of some of these folks . I am just beginning to fill in some of the blanks..such as where born...where buried.....pictures of the stones. Good luck, Thanks for the message. Mimi
