    1. [OhBrown] John/Joanna or Anna/Levi Riley:Roll call
    2. Riley, Daniel J.
    3. I am looking for a connection to John Riley (b?, d1828, Brown County, Ohio) who was married to Joanna/Anna ?(b1805 Kentucky, died 1873 Iowa). According to family histories John died in 1828 raising a log cabin. Joanna married Isaac J. Dawson of Lewis Twp, Brown County. Isaac was the next door neighbor of Levi Riley in the 1820 census. I believe that Levi and John Riley were related and that Joanna was living with Levi after her husband died. Levi and his family came to Ohio from New Jersey and before that Conneticut. I have more information on Joanna and Issac to anyone who is interested. I am willing to share any information. Daniel J. Riley [email protected]

The two census records give her birth as 1852. Her death certificate lists her birth as 1849. She married George Strong of Michigan in 1876, and by 1883 they were living in Gallatin Co., MT. She died there in 1910. I know there were a number of Pangborns living in Brown Co. in the 1800's, but I am not sure that this Ella Pangburn is one of them.

    1. [OhBrown] Cox Connection in Brown County
    2. Claudia Strobel
    3. Hello, I am researching the family of William Cox who was born in New Jersey (location unknown) prior to 1776 and migrated with his family to Clermont County/Brown County sometime around 1818. He finally settled down in Perry Township around the time of the formation of Brown County. William died in 1840; I don't know where he is buried. The family stayed fairly cohesive until c.1850 when William's widow, Elizabeth, and his adult children sold the farm to the Covalts and the clan spread out in Illinois. I was wondering if anyone else is researching the following Coxes, or may be able to provide any further information: William (Sr.) married 1) Margaret and 2) Elizabeth. Possible and known children: Those married in Ohio: William E. (Edward?) married Harriet Granger Jacob T. married Mary Ann Orr Robert married Mary Ann Curless David married Rachel Brown Gideon married Nancy Bull (family name later changed to Dyer) Elizabeth married Samuel Curless James W. married Malinda Fox Permelia married Aaron Bull (family name later changed to Dyer) Those married in Illinois after 1850 exit from Ohio: Caleb married Susan Mewmaw Sarah married Wilson Adams Nicholas married Clara Ann Morton Mary Cox married Andrew Jackson Brock Ogden Cox married 1) Mary Angeline ? and 2) Marion/Marianne Hilson John Cox married Susan A.M. Hickerson This family has provided many brick walls, especially getting William (Sr.) back into New Jersey; I have heard that he was possibly from the Elizabethtown area. Thank you, in advance, for any help you may be able to provide. Claudia Cox Strobel

I have a difficult task with my MURRY (MURRAY?) line, in that all I have is the wife/mother names. MATILDA MURRY wife of (?? MURRY), mother of MARY JANE MURRY(born c. 1853 likely in KY). Mary Jane Murry marries WILLIAM DEMARIS in Clermont Co 1868. They have two children, SARAH and WILLIAM. Jr. William senior dies in 1873 and Mary Jane marries ISAIAH OWEN with whom she has four more children. MATILDA married a LOTT MEEKER in 1869, Clermont Co., so (??) MURRY is dead?, divorced?, deserted?, etc. I am looking for any info on this MURRY (MURRAY) family, (??) Murry or Matilda (??) Murry's parents, siblings, etc. We believe Mary Jane had siblings, possibly a brother JAMES and sister SARAH.
