I see exerpts from the book on various sites, and it seems a lot of people have knowledge of it. I am trying to get a "list" of the six sons of one of the pioneers of Perry Co, Ephraim Granger. I heard there is a list of all of his sons given in the Perry Co section of the book and I am most anxious. It is not available to buy and there is a waiting list for used ones. Thankyou. karen.
Higginson Book Company of Salem, Massachusetts has - or had - reprints of the book available. They have a website, I believe. The book is not indexed but you can purchase an index from the Brown County Genealogical Society. I did not find any list for six sons of Ephraim Granger of Perry Twp, Brown County. His son Thurston is profiled in the biographical section, and it refers to Thurston's parents Ephraim and Dorotha as having five sons and five daughters. Thurston and his wife Hannah Doughty were reported to have had eleven children, all born in Perry Twp, of whom five were living at publication time (1883). Ephraim is buried in Cranmer cemetery. I am not researching the Miller family, but I do know a Charles J Miller who owns an insurance agency on Main Street in Batavia, OH which is in Clermont County. Brown County is the next county to the east of Batavia. His wife's name is Juanita and one of their daughters is named Judy. Charles is an elderly man who must be in his 80's or thereabouts. He used to be our insurance agent. If this sounds like a possible connection to your Charlie Miller, please email me at [email protected] Good luck in your search.

I was in a discussion with several members of the Butler County genealogy Society about DNA and Genealogy Research. I did some digging and found a web site called Family Tree DNA. I was able to oder a free video that tells about the use of DNA to research family history. I suggest that all of you order a free copy of this video and show it at your Society Meetings or for your own home use.. It is very interesting so please pass this link along to everyone you know that might be interested. Deb Morrison http://www.familytreedna.com/surname_video.asp

Lewis or Henry Lewis MOLER is a son of Joseph MOLER, a Revolutionary War soldier. I've really hit a brick wall with this ancestor. I've been able to document to him through his daughter, my gr-grandmother, Matilda Ann MOLER, married to John H. HANNAH, my father's grandfather. I also have a record of Hysom's marriage to Nancy Ann DYE. I would love to hear from you and am willing to share information I have with you. Thank you.

I question this because I have found Jacob & Eliza in the 1850 and 1860 Brown Co., Ohio Census records, with all the same children listed, but both records say that Jacob was born in Virginia, not Ohio, and Eliza was born in Ohio. In the 1850 census, his name is listed as Jabob Hiler, in the 1860 census, his name is listed as John J. Hyler; both of them have Eliza and all the same children listed. Also, if his name was John Jacob Hiler, could Eliza have had another name also? I have a death certificate for my GGgrandfather, Rudolph Hiler, that lists his parents as John Hiler and Rebecca Little, both from Brown Co., Ohio. Jacob and Eliza had a son named Rudolphus, which could be my Rudolph, as the age is correct. Anybody with information that can clarify this family line would be appreciated. Valerie Hiler Teasley
