Ms Street posted same to DENEWCAS-L,and I'm reposting to some other lists I belong to. Subj:[NewCastle] List of Swedish Families in New Sweden, 1693 Date:4/9/2003 11:22:55 AM Eastern Standard Time From:[email protected] Reply-to:[email protected] To:[email protected] From: "Original Settlements on the Delaware" by Benjamin Ferris: "The following is a "List of the Swedish families residing in New Sweden in 1693, with the number of individuals in each family". Some of the names are evidently Dutch (and Finnish), as Van der Weer, Starke and Meyer. These were probably reckoned as Swedes on account of their descent from them on the female side, and from having adopted the language and customs of that people. The list is dated 1693. It was probably made out in the spring of that year, and sent to Sweden with the interesting letter written by Charles Springer, and signed by thirty of the principal men in the colony, giving an account of their situation and soliciting the means of religious instruction. That letter was dated the 31st of May, 1693." Don't know if you will get this or not since it was 3 years ago you posted your msg. Samuel Kirkpatrick married Sarah Rosenburgh in York Co, PA ca 1791. From there they moved to Fleming Co, KY and stayed till around 1820 and Samuel with 3 or 4 of his boys went to Brown Co, OH while 2 other sons went to Vandenburgh Co, IN. I have lots of stuff on this family and will be more than happy to share it with you. Contact me at my e mail with your mailing address and I'll send you what I have including copies of documents. Was just going thru the Brown Co. Marriages (OH) 1818-1850 and found 2 entries for Phineas. 2nd to Nancy (L/D) Bratton 16 Sept 1841 and 1st to Priscilla Bratton 1 Apr 1830 At the time he married Priscilla it shows his age as 25, her as 18. No age on the other one. If he was 25 in 1830 his BD would have been 1805. Look forward to hearing from you. Jacque

There were many Thompson families in early Brown County, Perry Twp. I have "collected" a few of them, but am not absatively pololutely sure that I have them properly connected. I'll post a few of them for your use. Use these only as a "clue" - they are not proven. It seems that there were about 30 Thompson families that left Yorkshire England about the same time and came to the U.S. in 1830 - not all of them to Brown County, OH - thank goodness. It's a real mess - gives me a headach just to think about it and I've not worked on this family for almost a year. Rots or Ruck. ************* 1-George THOMPSON b. Abt 1807, , , , England, d. 2. David E. Cann
    3. For a few days now, this list and a number of others were "down" due to a major hard drive failure in a server at RootsWeb. When this happens, there really is nothing that can be done about it, except to replace the server and go on. That is why you have not received any mail for a few days. It appears now that we are back online, but now you will receive some mail that will have an incorrect date/time stamp on it until they get the backlog cleared out, so please be aware of that. The date and time on it will not necessarily be when it was sent. Also, a small amount of mail may be lost and never get delivered. Give them 24 to 48 hours from the time you read this message to clear the huge backlog out, and if you posted a message to the list that still does not appear, simply repost it. My apologies to all, but this is one of those situations where there was really not much RootsWeb could do but give the technicians time to replace a bad part and get the mail flowing again. Everything seems to be coming back now. David E. 1. [OhBrown] Ring family of Arnheim in Franklin Twp
    2. Buffys97
    3. I'm searching for Ring family of Arnheim in Franklin Township, ca. 1850-1860. The daughter, Mary Anna, married Joseph Arbogast in 1869 (marriage is recorded at both St. Michael and St. Mary). As a married couple, I believe they lived in Franklin Twp for a time. I am trying to link another Arbogast bride, Catherine Berst, to Mary Anna Ring or the Ring family before 1869. Thanks, Buffy
