Hi, In the book "Belmont County Before 1830" there is mention of marriage bonds as well as marriage records. How do I get a record of these marriage bonds? Who would have this information at the courthouse? I am interested in the marriage bonds of Joseph Powel and Mary Brook and Joshua Powel and Sarah Way both marriages in 1808. If there are marriage bonds as the book states, then bondsmen or a bondsman should be listed on each marriage bond, isn't that right?
