How were you able to locate these letters, were they part of a pension claim package? Thanks Craig >> Craig, One was a letter from my 3g Grandmother, Jane Wilson McWilliams, written in 1851 (she was 91 at the time), requesting bounty lands for her husband's service in the Revolutionary War. The second was from my Great Grandfather, James Murdock, requesting an increase in his Civil War Pension, in which he related some of his experiences in the 11th OVC. The third was from his in-laws, my Great Great Grandparents, Thomas P. and Emma Stewart Wear, after James Murdock's death , stating that he had only been married to my Great Grandmother, Eliza Jane Wear. in support of her widow's claim.
