Sorry, I didn't mean to cause an avalanche on safety. I just wanted to know if I had over reacted to what he said. I live in a large suburb of Chicago, but grew up in a town of 800 and still believe in the decency of people and it really took me aback when he told me they weren't safe in that area at all. Have since been given a lot of advice, but guess I will just wait and go with someone or bring my husband with me next year. I hadn't thought about dogs either and that probably bothers me more than the people problem-considering I am a grandmother. Thanks for all the help.
