I'm especially interested in learning the parents and siblings of Rachel MARTIN's father, John MARTIN, and of her mother, Susanna OURIE/UREY. RACHEL MARTIN was born circa 1806 at PA. He was the daughter of John and Susanna (Ourie/Urey) Martin. John was orn about 1774 in "Little" York Co., PA and died about 1847, probably in Licking Co., OH. Susanna was born about 1777, probably in PA and died about 1818 in PA or OH. John Martin remarried to Margaret Messencope on 11 Feb 1819 in Belmont Co., OH. Rachel married Reason Burdett Sr, son of William Burdett and Rosa Fitzgerald, on 17 Mar 1833 at Harrison Co., OH. Reason had previously been married to Sophia Spencer. Rachel and Reason Burdett Sr. appeared on the census of 1840 in Flushing Twp., Belmont Co., OH. Rachel is listed in final settlement of her father, John Martin's, estate, 3 July 1858 and other proceedings beginning July, 1853. These are recorded in the Partition records, Vol. D, pages 354-361; Vol F; and other volumes of the Licking Co. OH Clerk of Court, Courthouse, Newark, OH. She was recorded in the census on 16 Aug 1860 at Kirkwood Twp., Belmont Co., OH. Her husbnd had died by then. Rachel died in 1885 possibly in Belmont Co., OH. She was buried in 1885 at Bethel M.E. Church, Warren Twp., Belmont Co., OH. Children of Rachel Martin and Reason Burdett Sr : i. MALINDA was born circa 1836 at OH. Her common name was Belinda. She married Jonathon Payne Jr, son of Jonathon Payne Sr and Martha Bonaham, on 6 Dec 1858 at Belmont Co, OH. Malinda appeared on the census of 4 Sep 1850 in the household of Reason Burdett Sr at Union Twp., Belmont Co., OH. She appeared on the census of 25 Aug 1860 as the wife of Jonathon Payne Jr at Flushing Twp., P.O. Rock Hill, Belmont Co., OH. She was recorded on the census of 17 Jun 1880 with Jonathon Payne Jr at Warren Twp., Belmont Co., OH. Malinda Payne was recorded in the census on 5 Jun 1900 at Warren Twp., West Pct., Belmont Co., OH. Jonathon had died about 1897. Malinda died in 1908 at Belmont Co., OH. She was buried in 1908 at Bethel M.E. Church Warren Twp., Belmont Co., OH. ii. MINERVA was born circa 1837 at OH. She married John Wineman on 21 Mar 1857 at Brown Co., IN. She appeared on the census of 27 Jul 1860 in the household of John Wineman at Hamblen Twp., P.O. Mt. Mariah & Cleona, Brown Co., IN; then they moved and appeared on the census of 9 Aug 1870 at Ninevah Twp., Edinburg, P.O., Johnson Co., IN. Minerva Burdett was recorded in the census on 1 Jun 1900 at Centre Twp., Marion Co., IN. Her husband, John, had died about 1875. Minerva died on 24 Dec 1908. She was buried on 28 Dec 1908 at Crown Hill Cemetery, Indianapolis, Marion Co., IN. iii. REZIN was born in 1837 at OH. He married Mary C. Fox, daughter of Mary (Maiden Surname Unknown) Fox, on 17 Feb 1864 at Belmont Co., OH. Rezin Burdett Jr and Mary were recorded in the census on 6 Jun 1900 at Center Twp., Indianapolis, Marion Co., IN. He was not recorded in the Census in 1910. Mary was recorded, living with her son-in-law in Greene Co., IN Rezin died circa 1905 probably in IN. iv. HENRY was born between 1839 and 1841 at OH. He married Martha Dunn circa 1863. Henry Burdett and wife Martha were recorded in the census on 20 Jun 1870 at Wayne Twp., Bridgeport P.O., Marion Co., IN. Martha died ca. 1875. On 15 June 1878, Henry remarried to Mary Cossen. This was her second marriage also. Henry and Mary Burdett were recorded in the census on 11 Jun 1880 at Wayne Twp., Marion Co., IN. Henry Burdett was not found in the censusof 1900 for IN and is assumed to have died ca 1890. v. JOHN was born in 1843 at OH. He appeared on the census of 4 Sep 1850 in the household of Reason Burdett Sr at Union Twp., Belmont Co., OH. He appeared on the census of 16 Aug 1860 in the household of Rachel 1806 Martin at Kirkwood Twp., Belmont Co., OH. A search for John Burdett in the census of 1880 did not find him. vi. NAOMI was born circa 1845 at Belmont Co., OH. She married Thomas Brister on 19 Oct 1871 at Belmont Co., OH. She appeared on the census of 4 Sep 1850 in the household of Reason Burdett Sr at Union Twp., Belmont Co., OH and again on the census of 25 Aug 1860 but then in the household of Allen Dunn. She appeared on the census of 12 Aug 1870, still in the household of Allen Dunn at Flushing Twp., Belmont Co., OH. She was recorded in the census on 22 Jun 1880 at Richland Twp., County Infirmary, Belmont Co., OH 1880 Census, Ohio, Belmont Co., Richland Twp., County Infirmary, ink-stamp page 352A, ED 30, sheet 33 22 June 1880 Brister [incorrectly enumerated as Blister], Naomia, 35, married, b. OH, Fa. b. MD, Mo. b. OH; cannot write Enumerated 2 pages later, evidently in a children's section of the Infirmary: Ida, 8, b. OH, Fa. b. unknown, Mo. b. OH; attended school within the calendar year Blister, male, 3 mo, b. Feb, b. OH, Fa. b. unknown, Mo. b. OH. Naomi died circa 1890 probably at Belmont Co., OH. vii. ULYSSES was born in 1849 at OH. He married Mary Ann Bennett on 21 Aug 1883 at Marion Co., IN. He appeared on the census of 16 Aug 1860 in the household of his mother Rachel at Kirkwood Twp., Belmont Co., OH and appeared on the census of 20 Jun 1870 in the household of his brother, Rezin Burdett Jr, at Wayne Twp., Marion Co., IN. He was recorded in the census of 1880 at Carbon Co., WY. Ulysses was not found in the US for the 1900 Census, using various spellings of Ulysses. Mary Ann Burdett was not found either.
